Ben, your International is priceless. The older DT466 is the best engine ever and pre electronic too. You take such great care of it. It’s a beautiful truck. I wish I could find one like it. I throughly enjoy your videos thanks.

Ben my dad loved this video, he use to drive for a mobile home service & he said he would do the service on the international DT 466 that was their mobile home toter during the winter, & he said it brought back memories seeing you do the service on yours, he said he always hated changing those fuel filters cause you gotta just about stand on your head to change em, thanks for the instructional video once again & my dad said thank you for bringing back those memories of the dreaded services on the DT 466!!! Be blessed Ben!!

Good video Ben! It is that time of the year for winter maintenance. I have also been in my shop servicing tractors and equipment while it is raining or snowing, and waiting on extreme temperature drops... and oh yes, waiting on parts to come in because the dealer does not have them in stock. Tis the story!

Love the sound of an old binder. I'm glad I watched another video because of the coolant you have to use. We have a 96' DT466 with the fire department, so if it ever needs coolant I'll make sure to pass the word on what coolant to use. I love how clean and sound that truck is. Love those old IH's

Coolant type and treatment is very important. If not you’ll have cylinder liner issues eventually. Thanks for watching

Im a Cummins man, but i remember back in the day when we had around 20 of theses 466. just shake it and it would start! had some fuel solenoid problems and replaced a few starters is about all of the problems we ever had. on a cold morning i sure miss them. but on a hot summer day they were bad about overheating in a bus. but they were sure better than the new DEF loving over computer controlled Cummins we have today.
@khtractors
@khtractors 7 месяцев назад
The buses only have a half radiator and half intercooler. The truck has a full radiator and full intercooler. They will start beautifully in the cold. Thanks for watching

Nice job of keeping things clean. try poking a hole in oil ilters with sharp punch or drill. So You can have a controled drain of oil filters.That little truck will last You a long time.
@khtractors

I’ll try that one day! Thanks for watching Jim!

Ben, maybe you have mentioned this in the past and if so I apologize for the question, but what do you do with all the burnt oil? You have a lot of maintenance to keep up with, have you trained your boys to help you out? You really do a great job.

I have it in a old fuel tank outside. My buddy has a truck shop with a used oil burner, probably have him bring me a tote to pump it out in one day. Thanks for watching.
