It's actually my dream to open a Yatai in Canada. I have everything planned out and even some funds available, but unfortunately no matter where you look, the restrictions and costs are just outrageous. The big cities make it so unaffordable and limit the time/places you can set up and the small towns are so out of touch that they see street vendors as a "lower class" of work and want nothing to do with them. Really unfortunate situation for us sadly

There are things that are amazing in Tokyo, some of which are cleanliness, unflushable toilets, delicisous and highly quality meals, politeness, taxi drivers wearing white gloves, mini seismic tremours felt every now and then during the day or at night, SUVs nowhere to be seen in streets, the habit of wearing a mask when one has a runny nose or a cold..... Though expensive, Tokyo is a wonderful megalopolis.

The food he offers is freshly made, hot and yummy. In spite of the lockdown challenges, this man survived and continued to keep up the business. Truly a warrior. He is fatigued everyday with all the hard work, yet I am sure he has a great story to say to his people back there in Japan. Stoner Panda I’ve been to more formally looking places that actually ended up getting a bunch of people including myself a terrible bout of stomach sickness and diarrhea 😂 I think if it was that bad at the yatai the locals would stop going there by then. Honestly the intimacy and human connection I’d take the risk even if it did get me sick afterwards.

@@StonerPanda-420 if the locals are eating at a place like that it’s absolutely 💯 percent good as if it turns out be bad the person has to face the locals everyday. In case you travel to any country in Asia you are better off eating at this kinds of place just make sure it’s quite busy. This was a simple but very well observation by Anthony Bourdain. This guys mostly use fresh things and the grocery for the shop is done on a daily basis to reduce waste and reduce loss.
