Visual look inside the servodrive contrabass subwoofer. in stead of a voicecoil its using a DC permanent magnet Motor for driving the 2 opposite 15"cones.
During playback of a 'song' the microphone of my phone does not how to deal with the bass....

@@ivanknjezevic4840 the power that is needed tot turn the dc servo motor. The DC servo motor needs power to rotate. This is very similar to a voicecoil. Only in this sub a motor with very low inertia is used and a mechanical solution to go from Rotation to linear movement. TO measure the power, the simple approach is to just measure the voltage across the servo and calculate the power into the resistor. Other option is to measure the power that is going into the amplifier

Hi Marcus, the sound is pretty amazing, although when listening on low / very low sound level and using a crossover frequency like 40 of 80 Hz it makes some buzzing noise. But when listening a little louder its normal. I use 20 -25 Hz crossover frequency and when watching movie the sound is really awesome. Movie 6 underground has some mind blowing subsonic sound effects that makes my couch vibrate a little. I also think the subwoofer does add value to music. The bass drum is now a lot more realistic, my speakers will play music down to 26 Hz. But even then i think the sub adds value to the sound stage

Usually with servo woofers they get down to such a low the human ear can't hear it but our bodies can feel it, that's why a lot of rap artist use these servo woofers aka 808 for concerts and why the bass is so heavy, you don't want to use this exclusively for a concert though as the bass is very blaty and sometimes comes out muffled that's why they're accompanied by the EAW SB1000 series woofer as they deal well with the midrange and lower bass areas very well, and mainly get used on the flypacks on the stage.
