To the ignorant trying to in anyway suggest the mum was in anyway being 'sensitive'- if you don't know the history of racism & microaggression and the VAST ways it manifests- Google is your friend. The apology was late and too little, too late. This is a core memory for those girls and another example of why people of colour say our children learn about racism way too young; because they experience it way too young.

Oh my god! My boys were ignored by multiple cars during the 4th of July parade! Stopped for all other kids but not ours. I didn’t blow it up and post a video. People get treated differently, it doesn’t matter your skin color but it seems to only matter if it happens to your kids vs mine right?
They have those “You should never meet your heroes” quotes for a reason. The kids are gonna have to learn one day that they can’t always have what they want, even if they’re not asking for a lot, they might have to lower their expectations even further, and that’s okay. We can’t expect to be happy if we hold others up to high standards, and expect them to prioritize our happiness. Maybe they’re entitled, and so is the mom- but maybe they were just looking forward to that moment so much, and it didn’t go as they imagined. We’ll never know, since social media posts only show us the side they want us to see, and we weren’t there and don’t know them personally.

Over sensitive any? My kids are white and they’ve gone through this type thing many times at theme parks. The characters walk right by sometimes or pose with someone else. Seriously ? You’re not special. It’s some goofy teenager in a hot costume for minimum wage. AND Let the media do it’s best to blow it out of proportion & use this to drive a even bigger wedge between ppl. 🥲
There are multiple videos of different incidents where black children were specifically ignored. Sounds like you're a little too sensitive to be watching RU-vid videos...
