Maynard James Keenan's 60th AEnema song from the album AEnima @TOOLmusic @pusciferdotcom @APerfectCircleTV @officialprimus #adamjones #DannyCarey #justinchancellor #sessanta #maynardjameskeenan #aperfectcircle #lesclaypool
MJK was not the goat - that was clearly les claypool - his performance here was a dedication to the front man from the residents - homer flynn - did i just reveal a fifty year secret? - homer always wears a mask and flails his arms just like les is doing - this performance is a direct homage to one of his heroes
Agreed. I normally sing this on karaoke nights just to keep my chops up as a drummer and a backup vocalist. Tonight I tried to do just that… required correction almost immediately as I realized I can’t do that. Also… “back the way it ought to be” is the toughest part for me to sing. I never sustain the “be” part as long as he is able to. Doesn’t matter for most there but it does to me. But I do try to put on a show too, so at least I am trying to get into this character.
I cannot say how fucking awesome this was live. The MJK trifecta, Carina Rounds birthday, original APC, fucking Primus! Sessanta birthday year for me and MJk. Maynard the Cat😂😂 and then TOOL plays Aenema.. I can literally die ❤❤❤
@@neilabel1711 +1 Regret to life. You know how many boys became men during Judith's video with Paz tying up her hair? You KNOW what I am talking about. It's... the moment where you're like, "okay.. I get it."
I was in front of Adam and such, still processing what the hell happened. It felt very surreal and got to score a pick and a ping pong ball!!! What an amazing show indeed!!!
Maynard's voice is perfect for his age. His raspy vocals sound juicy, love it. Wish I could see them some day if they ever come to my country. Greetings from Argentina!!
I'm having a hard time coming back to reality from this... still have goosebumps! What an incredible night from start to finish. Flew down from Canada for this, we picked the right show! Wow all these bands just do it for me.
I could cry watching this. Thank you for uploading and sharing. My first concert was 97' Lollapalooza in Chicago with TOOL headlining and I got to see a half-painted, glow-in-the-dark blue Maynard totally blow my teenage mind. Fast forward to 2020 with Covid and hearing MJK bellow "Stay Alive" during Descending while thinking about what would happen to my little boys if anything happened to me was awe inspiring and wildly timely and relevant. To see and hear this band still sound like the studio release live and Maynard being out front and center instead of a shadowy silhouette in the background just brings it all back full circle to the days of Undertow and AEnema. Thank you again for the upload. This is a special moment to capture for any lifelong TOOL fan.
so jealous of anyone there to see it live. can’t believe how incredible it sounds. thanks to the poster. Maynard still going hard at 60. a true legend!
I was seated next to Justin Chancellor and his wife in the audience, then when he got up and didn't return to his seat I was on pins and needles. People were legitimately crying. Best show I've ever been to.
These vocals sound like they're straight from the sound board! I have NEVER heard 'nard so clear from a live recording. This is a true gem! Thank you so much!
I recorded the video with a Samsung S23+ cell phone which has excellent audio and video capabilities but it also doesnt hurt that the Hollywood Bowl has the best sound system of any venue around.
Maynard’s voice is his “tool”…he’s a health nut, keeps his body and vocal chords in shape; this is why, along with pure talent, he still sounds this good 🙌🏻
This is so great. I was there further up the hill. Words cannot express the emotions from this show and especially this song. Mom bring the rain please!
maynard absolutely feeling it. Love his little improvising on some of the melodies, can get stale playing the same thing for 30 years. Thats why we go to see live music!
Guh, the San Diego show was fantastic, but this would have brought it to another level. Fitting that the guys made it out for the Hollywood Bowl show to do Aenema
Danny Carey playing some smaller drum kit probably Josh Freeses not his spaceship that he takes on tour with tool. Still awesome to see them show up for Maynard’s bday.
I remember the first time I heard this, I was sick as a dog on all kinds of medicine,NyQuil, Vicodin and this song came on WMMR 93.3 FM Philly and I was changed. If I was a HellA resident after hearing this I'd be hiring a you haul quickly!!! Brilliant track.
I had no idea the boys from Tool would show up on this Tour!! WTF i'm so bummed I couldn't get tickets to this exact show. And I love hearing the People in LA screaming for their city to become part of the pacific.
It doesn’t matter where he sits on the stage stands on the stage does a headstand… Is one of the best vocalist ever… But at the end of the day.. I’m also equally envious of his career.
I saw them live in 95 and 96. MJK was a madman back then, spinning and doing is weird spider gyration dance thing. He doesn't have the same vigor with his body anymore, but his voice sounds the same. He knows how to maintain that instrument, even with three bands.
Damn I wish I was at this show! I was fortunate enough to see them at The Woodlands in Texas! I've never seen anything quite like this show! It was very unique and full of energy. Well suited for today's crowd. Ever changing and evolving. It was definitely a great experience! Now that's how you turn 60!!! Keep up!!! Love MJK and the bands that played there in this extraordinary event! Rock on!!!
@@TOOLislovebro I’m so happy we were able to share that experience. Fucking lucky duckies we are. When Les started doing that southern song, and like fucking his bass, I melted
Did Maynard actually allow for this one to be recorded? I see this channel also has Grand Canyon video...which was the finale at 1st Phx show & only one he allowed
@@ShastaBean he mentioned the “we’re gonna let you film” once tool was getting ready to come out. But prior to that it seemed like people would film when they want. But like any of his shows, majority are too focused on the stage to do so. I think he kinda let it happen for his celebration
@@samuelcarter4011 Audience are focused because he doesn't allow recording...which I think is great! And from seeing Reddit...they legit haul you out if caught. So, I don't think people risk it. But I can see how maybe they were a bit relaxed on it with this show. Imagine being a person that gets dragged out and then they do THIS! haha...hard pass!
The timing fuck up at the very beginning made me feel so unbelievably much better about a set I recently played. I don’t care about their mistake, it’s just nice to know they still make them.
