Nice vlog as always Steve,,see you have some nice new reels and rods,, me being a poor ole Dustman I'm still making use of two Nash Hooligan rods and H-Gun BP 10 reels but as I take care of my kit its all still serving me well just serviced the reels myself and respooled both with twenty pound line now got a numb arm lol.
Love you videos Steve, I've followed you for decades well before RU-vid was even thought of, on your travels around the world in carp talk, carp world, and such, hope one day to bump into you on a lake in France or somewhere and have a good natter, brilliant Steve keep it up 👍
Really good eye opening info for that swim steve thank you. I really like that swim the tree just to your left down the channel and the spot you cast your 3rd rod iv never had a take but just to the left more near the over hanging tree has been kind to me . Another brilliant video Steve. And it was good to see you get a take on the live stream with Alfie Willingale the other day . Keep the video's coming mate . One love cj 🎣🎣🎣
Thanks very much👍🏻🙂 I really enjoyed fishing there it’s a swim I’ve wanted to have a go at for a long time and luckily the guy in there was going home the evening I arrived. Great little area, the third rod spot I saw the fish and had it taking a few mixers but it went quiet so I put the bottom rod in there and the fish was still there!! 🙂🙂
@@stevebriggs4638 that swim is always taken and like you the last fue times I have been coming in the gate the lads was packing away so I waited and went in their . Their is another favourite just a fue swims up in the bowl section by the fallen tree . I find the winter a little better in that swim . Shack the Balif from lizards gave me a fue very good winter spots for that swim . If you ever run out of anything when over their steve I'm only 20 minutes up the road just drop me a little message it's not a problem mate #teamnash 🎣🙏
@@stevebriggs4638 any time steve we the carpy brotherhood stick together when in need . And like I said I'm only 20 minutes up the road . I will also share the info I have with you . Iver at a show or if you ever pop down to royston when I'm doing my Balif weekend I will reveal all 👍🎣🎣

@@stevebriggs4638 sorry should said great video my son just show me how sub and like videos not great with computers use same rods reels bait as u just wondering make video how to under arm cast right way
Animal347 thanks - you’re not alone needing the younger generation sometimes for the technical side of things 😆😆 yes always a thought - I like to hear what people would want to see 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Steve I was on the same lake a day before u I was there on the Saturday and Sunday 4 swims down on the same rigs and the trusty Nash scopex and nothing mate
I did notice that the fish were swimming up and down the channel quite fast and not stopping until they got to the end. That was why I fished mainly to my left as even in front of me they were swimming through quite fast.
Steve briggs yeah I saw the same when I was down there but there was a kid in that swim . I’m never fished there before but looks like a great swim have u Eva fished the mets lake
@@foxthewoodturner1765 No I wish I'd fished the Mets before now but I'd just always concentrated on fishing abroad. I will go on to the Mets in the future for sure as there are some lovely carp in there!!
@Steve briggs aww nice I think I’m definitely gonna have to go on there next time I’m down the only thing that puts me off is there’s weed everywhere but most of the lakes are like it there
I started doing my own fishing channel on yt. Going to do my next vlog at Thorney weir on the 3rd march, hope I get my videos up to a quality standard as yours.
Hi Daniel yes you have to try and avoid the stinky stuff, where I was it was much firmer near the edge and I caught most from those spots. There will be spots all around the lake that are cleaner and harder and they are the spots to look for.
@@stevebriggs4638 thanks Steve would've made my day if I had turned up and you were sat on the bank! Thanks for the advice I did try drop one shorter in the night but nothing provailed but I do know when them fisjh aren't feeding in there it can be very hard
Great video Steve me and my friend just started a channel called fishing fanatics and we were wondering what venues and good to get some fish around 15+lb
Fishing fanatics thanks - probably the wrong person to ask on this as I do so little in uk really but the waters around me are all good open access waters - thorney weir, Lizard, Farlows......
Hi Steve, this will be a great video as always! im from Leeds & the fish arent as big as down south and the venues are getting worse every year. Every peg full and fish pressured to death and alot of waters seem to have fish with white spots on like a disease. Do you have any advice on a nice place to go down south where you catch plenty and have some good fish in their and isnt too difficult to fish as a few of the lads are still learning different rigs etc. Keep up the videos mate
To be fair Thorney Weir is a great place to come to. It’s day ticket and people do come from all over the country to fish there. There are three lakes so plenty of choice and there are lots of really nice fish!!! Also Farlows Lake is just around the corner so you’ll be sure to find something you like 👍🏻👍🏻 or if you want something easier and smaller than those then Lizard lakes are right next to Thorney Weir and easy enough but again with nice fish.
@@stevebriggs4638 Great stuff mate! will have a look at them believe it or not im almost 27 and im yet to beat my uk pb from when i was 8 years old and that was a 27lb 10oz mirror it was biggest in lake back then and still is but not many waters round here have bigger fish in maybe the odd 1 so we need to come down south haha
@@stevebriggs4638 Hi Steve, we have been planning to go to Cassien or 1 of the other big French public waters for the last few months but we hear a lot about cars getting smashed up and people carrying on as they dont want us to fish there. Is that true or just a rumour to keep people away? Thanks bud tight lines
Tyson 'Gypsy King' Fury it is true that we often aren’t welcomed on the French public waters but I’ve fished Cassien for well over 30 years and never had a problem personally.
@@TraficAngler yes I've fished in Germany many times from right in the north to right down in Bavaria, also pike fished a few times up on the Baltic sea at Rugen. We've got some really good German friends.
