Loving this Immortal Songs series. This arrangement really takes advantage of the strengths of each member and shows that you can weave a beautiful, unified tapestry from four distinctly different vocal colors. Or to use a different metaphor, this kind of stage magic is only possible via the alchemy of their bff chemistry. So glad I discovered Mamamoo and songs like this when I first started listening to kpop after years of listening to jazz and classical almost exclusively. Kpop's Lolita-esque bubblegum pop girl groups and pretty dancing boys wearing makeup and colored hair while rapping and trying to act tough almost turned me off right away and if it wasn't for Mamamoo's jazz and retro era swing songs I probably would have given up on kpop without really giving it a fair chance. I like other kpop groups now but Mamamoo still rules my heart. 💖
It's 3:30am but let's do this 😌 Yeah Hwasa's also a rapper, and has been writing lyrics forever. Some trivia: Hwasa once wrote a rap using the arrangement to Blurred Lines... it's called Pink Panty 🙂 Pre-debut, their CEO told them not to cut their hair. Being the little rebel she was, Hwasa came in the next day with a pixie cut and asked him how he liked it. Cue, a fight 😅 Hyejin later apologised with a rap song called... I Do Me 😂 Their CEO liked it so much that he decided to include it in their debut album. Also, there's an episode in the first season of MMMTV that focuses on the creation of this performance, if you'd like to see it!
Oh, you really turned the volume up! Thank you! That's my favorite performance by them along with "Way to Sampoo" And the newest "Meeting". Are you interested in other korean but not really kpop- singers? Then you should definitely check up Son Seung Yeon (at 4:47 she is shown). A powerful singer, with a rich tone and a common guest on Immortal Songs! Try "I miss you" or "Is anyone there"( she sounds a little bit different than usual there). Or the Queen of Immortal Songs and high mixed voice: Sohyang! "Arirang Alone" (a traditional folk song) or "Lean on me" (Michael Bolton was there!) :)
Yeah, I love them so so much. I love to watch the performance of "Love", "Rhythm", "Backwood", "Meeting" and the other 10 Performances /Immortal songs 2/ too. Also, they've every song genre. Thank you so much for your reaction. Whatever song chooses you'll never disappoint.
I'm loving your Immortal Song marathon sm!! It's such a good way to appreciate MAMAMOO vocals and their awesome performances. And doing it chronologically makes it so much more interesting for you, like you said you get to see them evolve as singers and performers. You will soon get to their first win as well, can't wait 😍
i know it's been mentioned before that they have video of them working on creating their version of this song on their channel, in the mamamoo tv category (as well as the previous immortal songs performance of theirs) but can't recall if had been linked... so, here ya go:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ejbHu3vadjU.html it's about 17 minutes long, but i promise the time will just fly by, watching them both play and work at the same time... they really are the definition of 'work hard, play hard'. and somehow frequently manage both at once
