thanks for the detail explanation. advise, any specific reason why the union creates duplicates for the common value (without distinct), whereas the intersect doesn't (in this case Monday)
It is a design decision made by Microsoft. I would say that UNION could have returned the unique values only, but they made this way to provide more options and for performance. If you want to remove the duplicated values you can write DISTINCT ( UNION ( a, b ) )
Hi! I have a question regarding UNION. I used UNION function in excel power pivot to combine two tables for measure calculation. SUM works perfectly, but i need to put one of the columns (from this calculated table) into pivot. How can i do it?
