hey heyy i love the video but i have a quick question, manual focus (part 15:00 ) we can use sigma lenses to do it , or only with sony lense can you do a manual focus on gimbal whitout the focus motor? thank you for your time! :)

Hi Colin, Thanks a lot for this informative video -- I really liked the closeup shots of the gimbal so I could see the build quality. At this point, I am not sure whether it is best to keep my Zhiyun Crane 2 for the next few years or upgrade to the RS3 Pro. I have had the Zhiyun Crane 2 since 2018 and have been using it to make walking videos -- feel free to check them out on my channel. It is calibrated nicely to compensate for sudden turn movements (good amount of deadband). Though the micro jitters and z axis bounce movement can bother me sometimes -- especially on intense hikes. I am wondering in your opinion whether it is worth it to upgrade from the Zhiyun Crane 2 to the DJI RS3 Pro?

Aren't you supposed to attach all accessories before you balance the gimbal...

Nice video. Another tip for 24-70 lenses, calibrate it at 46-50mm to get an even balance throughout the entire focal range.

DJI RS3 PRO SONY A 7Siii Sony 16-35 F4 Lens - this lens is powered. But I can not set to zoom in/out with the dial. By chance if you know it possible. Means to zoom as a focus, with out focus motor. Why does my dji rs 3 pro battery drain so fast? Is it because the focus motor is also taking power in the stabilizer?

For the Sony a7iii you also have to disable the Bluetooth function and turn on USB connection to PC remote.

So, this works so you can use Autofocus of Autofocus lenses with just the Bluetooth connection? No Cables required?

You can set Both Start and Stop points for your Zoom. Go to the Dji RS Pro 3 menu, swipe to Settings (Cog Wheel) find FOCUS Motor Endpoints, find MANUAL Endpoints, press CONFIRM, and set your POINTS. done. Hope this helps.

DJI should pay you for this, their manuals are virtually useless. Thank you! One question, why would I not want my camera to manage all the focus? My plan was to have the camera AF enabled and use the motor/DJI to just manage zoom. Do you also happen to know if the LiDAR module actually improves tracking accuracy/response ... the manual suggest "Active Tracking" with the Raveneye, but "Active Tracking Pro" with the LiDAR module ... is there a difference?

on mac the Dji Assistent cant see my gimbel ...its been a week and i cant fix the incomplete firmware ,event the raveneye turn black on my iphone when i start using it ...OMG I GAVE UP LOOKING FOR SOLUTION

Thank you for your video! I come back every time I doubt about how to set up the cables. Altough I have a problem: M button is not working with the camera. I set up C1 on my A7sIII as "Hold focus". If i press it on the camera it works, but not from the gimbal. Other buttons are working like record button and the dial. Any ideas? I even tried to update the firmware from the original to the beta...

26:00 Regarding the focus motor positioning. Actually, there's a lens strap in DJI RS3 Combo Set. The strap holds focus motor gear in touch with the focus ring and doesn't allow to lose connection between them should the camera and the lens move away from the focus motor gear a little bit

Great video! I followed the instructions but when using the raven eye, I only get the display on my phone when the gimbal is locked. As soon as I unlock it, the screen goes dark. Suggestions? 🤷🏻‍♂

Hi there, Thanks for the detailed tutorial, really useful and learned a lot from it..... I have a question, the focus belt has an extra length after fixing it on the lens, during the rotation, it hits the cable.... How can i avoid this? of course i had a crazy idea about shortening it lol..... But is there any other idea to keep it close to the lens so it will rotate nice and neat? Thanks in advance :)

Had wifi issues with my oneplus 7 pro but works on my xkaolin 10 ultra, I have to disconnect the control cable for video? But leave It connected for photo?

Can you make a video with Canon R5C and pro 3 and raveneye. I cant get them to work. Or control anything if I do see the camera on my phone or ipad.

I think my initial balance was done wrong. When I turn on my gimble the camera is listing on an right angle. Is there a way to reset this so my camera is in a balanced position?

This is great. I'm realising that you can't touch focus with a phone connected with raveneye.. so instead of tapping the flipout screen on canon 6d mk2 to focus, the phone won't do it.. not sure it's worth having raveneye then :D cheers

You absolutely missed the main point in raceneye setup and why I am here. You show where you connect USB C on raveneye and dont shpw where each one actually goes. Whats the point to show obvious things in tutorial and skip not so obvious 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm confused. And possibly senile. Are you balancing the gimbal with the power off? Because when I do that, my gimbal curls up into its fetal storage position... all locked up... and impossible to adjust balance. When I power it on, it unfolds... but now the gimbal motors are obviously working and not allowing me to see if it's truly balanced. Please unconfuse me. Thank you.

I think this is the only video that I've come across that showed from unboxing to the very last step on how to use the DJI Ronin 3. I'm using a Canon R5 but was still able to follow you all the way through. The only thing I had an issue with was the focus motor but that was b/c I was using the wrong usbc cable. Once I switched that out, the focus worked! Thank you for making such an in-depth tutorial!

What's the point of having a whole focus monitor, when you can just connect the cable and do it? (When you have an af lens)

Edit: Update to my original post below: I found today that I can get all the camera controls for my Lumix S5iix to work via Raveneye using the RSS USB-C connector on the RS3 Pro, but the power-on sequence is essential for it to work... With the S5iix, it only works if the camera is powered-on last, after the gimbal and Raveneye are powered on... If the camera is powered up before either of the others, then the iso/aperture/shutter controls do not work. Interestingly, if I connect the camera directly to the RSS connector on the Raveneye, the power-on sequence does not seem to matter. Anyway, at least now I know how to make it work :) original post: ...... Important thing to note for the RavenEye transmitter cabling setup, at least for some cameras. I set up my RS3 Pro with a Lumix S5iix -- both purchased in Q4 2023. In your video, when setting up the Raven, you leave your RSS USB cable from the camera connected to the RSS jack on the RS3 (as opposed to moving it to the RSS jack on the Raven). For me, using the S5iix camera, the camera controls would not work on the Raven app unless I connected the camera's USB cable to the Raven's RSS jack. When the camera was connected to the RS3's RSS jack as is shown in the video, the camera controls (ie, iso, aperture, shutter speed) did not work. The gimbal-related functions worked fine either way.

Plz Help! I'm deciding to buy RS3, Does it really worth spending extra bucks on Zoom/Focus motor? I won't use it for focus but thinking to use it for zoom on sigma 25-70, 2.8. I'm worried about not taking advantage of full zoom control as it may imbalance the gimbal.

Just a question : I'm about to buy the RS3 Pro gimbal in conjunction with the Canon R5C: is it possible that the gimbal will become unbalanced when operating the zoom of a lens such as the one you use in your video? I'm assuming that I'm using the RS3 Pro's focus control to drive the zoom of my Canon 24-105L lens and I'm wondering if the zoom range of the lens can really throw the RS3 Pro's balance off. Hi, I subscribed to your channel and congratulations for the excellent videos. I own a Sony A7R IIIA and I bought a Dji Ronin S3 gimball with the Raveneye. Everything works fine and when I use the Raveneye I see the image on the phone, use the Trak and Force Mobile and more. Unfortunately I can not see the parameters of the camera and, after turning off the bluetooth, when I connect the usb-c cable, on the application I see the parameters, times, apertures and ISO, the record button works, but the image. As soon as I unplug the usb-c cable, the parameters no longer work, but the image returns. What can I do? Thank you.
