In this video I take you through the software, plugins and extensions you'll need to set up your Mac to create Lottie animations. I'll then link to this video every time I do a Lottie tutorial, so we can move ahead without going through this process every time 🙂.

The ZXP Installer did not work for me. I had to install the AEUX and Bodymovin extensions manually in my iMac. For anyone running into the same blocker, here is a step by step solution dependent on your OS: www.batchframe.com/docs/installing/extensions

Thank you for this video. I had a quick project given to me at work to edit a Lottie animation and I had never used it before. I was able to import it and edit it in After Effects. Also, just a friendly note -- Adobe is pronounced with the long "e" at the end. The company is named for the clay used to make sun-dried bricks from which native American structures were built, mostly in southeastern United States. Most American kids learn about adobe in elementary school, but I can see why those outside the U.S. would pronounce it without the long "e" sound.

how many tb of ram will i need to run ae for more than 5 minutes?

Haha, the M1 doesn’t do too bad. But the correct answer is 56… 56tb of ram.

@@ChristopherDeane bodymovin.zxp is damaged / corrupt file (this github.com/airbnb/lottie-web/tree/master/build/extension) I have the newest Ae 18.2.1

Did you try the solution that Brian suggested? It’s the pinned comment on this video. Other than that, try installing older versions of the plugins and installer.
