Setting Goals - Prepare Your Child for Ivy League
Alema & Geraldine talk about when is the best time to talk about college.
Alema shares his plan to talk about college by getting three things for each child. He got them a desk, a clock, and he helped them set their goals. It was by physically establishing these things in the home that their children knew and understood college was their goal. A desk to establish their designated work space. A clock so they learned time management. Goals so they learned to be doers and get things done.
Geraldine talked about implementing their infamous white board, a physical reminder, a tool that showed semester goals, weekly schedule, monthly calendar with all the activities that they chose to help them achieve their goals. If they weren't achieving their goals, they would adjust the tool so they could achieve their goals.
