Setting PS3 IP Address

@saosinlunatic On a PC that's connected to the router, press the windows button and type cmd then press enter. In the command line box that pops up, type ipconfig and press enter. Just look for either the Ethernet or Wireless section depending on how you connect the PC to the router. The default router is called Default Gateway. To get the two DNS addresses you need to either ring your ISP and ask them or do a search online. Just google your ISP and DNS and you should find it.

toooo alll my ip searchers i have gone throught over 50 videos before i was able to obtain type 2 nat type and i have found it is actually a combination of mixed ips from different videos combined to make my one rather than going through 1 video and following its step by step setup, however this video has the perfect primary dns

1-Go to your start up menu.. 2-Type in run.. 3-Type in cmd in box.. 4-Type in ipconfig.. 5-All of your ip address and Default router numbers will be there 6-Restore system settings on your ps3 7-When connections come up do it custom.. 8-And the numbers on your pc you put on your ps3.. Trust me i have had this error code for connection problem for a bit and i finnaly figured it out!! My ps3 is now online!!!

@tjk259 Thats because you need to find your dns error. PS3s arent made with DNS servers so you have to use the servers from your pc. To do this go to your computer, press start and go to the "Run" application. Click that and a window should pop up. Type in CMD into the search bar. It should open up a black window. Type in ipconfig/all and press enter. It should give you all info of your network info. Look for the DNS Servers and put those numbers in your PS3.

Did you just change the 20 in your IP to a 1 in the default router?

@hefjbg its your actual internet to the connection. if its wireless then its saying its getting through the router but your modem doesnt have a connection

if u connect to your router wireless and the router itself has a password protection the key wep would be the password you used to protect your router from having any random person access your router. That is as much as i know.

Okay, and what if you DON'T have a password to connect to the router?

I am guessing your router is not connected to the internet. Try to connect your laptop to the router and see if it will go online. If it doesn't, that means your devices are connecting to the router but the router is not connected to the interent.

To all a IP Address is a string of numbers separated by periods that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network. You don't get to pick and choose your IP Address it's the address of the system using the internet. In other words the systems location. You can spoof the IP to give off a different location. This video is pointless because the second you system gets online it goes to the correct and original string of numbers. You want to spoof your IP and crap then jailbreak or Dex your system.

Obviously I did this when I was getting the IP address timed out, typed it all in correctly etc. Now this time round the IP address has succeeded and stopped timing out, but the internet connection keeps failing and it says its a DNS error. Have any ideas what I can do?

Ok guys this is how you get your default router, the primary DNS and the secondary and pretty much evrething you need for this. all you got to do is go in the sart menu of windows then go in 'run' then type in ipconfig/all this will give you ALL the info you need more then simply typing in ipconfig

If ur havn troubl try this: -connect ur modem to ur ps3 via ethernet cord -unplug ur modem and remove the battery pack so it loses power -put the battery back in and plug it back up -u shud now have a connection

Guys just simply go to the Internet Connection Settings then choose easy and then press scan and If you see your IP then press it and enter your Wi-fi Password and Succesfuly worked Hope it helped you

If your having trouble this is why do everything he says to do 1st..., after that go do it the same again but this time follow mine, 1st scan for a connection click on your connection 2nd do your password 3rd now you will get to the IP Adresses deactive then and go automatic, 4th go along till it says automatic or manual on IP adress deactivate it then it will work :)

@saosinlunatic easiest way for me was to go to opendns.com and sign up and go to router setup. Gives you a list of routers by brand and the default router addresses. You can then either use the Open DNS numbers (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) or the DHCP ones your ISP has. Open DNS walks you through it either way.

just enter an ip address which isn't being used on your network. Say you have 5 devices connected to your internet use an ip address like 192.168.1.6 just make sure the last digit is above the number of devices connected to your network.

Guys Guys i had the same problem. The ps3 can only be set up to wi-fi or connected to an ethernet cable separately. not at the same time. just reset the router. Do not, i repeat, DO NOT RESTORE YOUR PS3 i know you guys think thats the only solution, but trust me. You will be beyond disappointed when you find out you lost all your memory and still have internet problems. Just reset the router.
