Amazon Opensearch is a distributed, NoSQL, and managed datastore on AWS. It excels at text based lookups (aka fuzzy text) lookups and can even be used as a datastore that scales horizontally. Formerly, this service was known as ElasticSearch until it recently forked off a recent version and rebranded itself as Opensearch.
In this video, I walk you through the process of setting up your first OpenSearch cluster and viewing sample data in the Kibana dashboard. Everything done in this video is using the AWS Free Tier.
