I’ve always appreciated Joe’s philosophy of “get it right at the source” and I can say I’ve only really heard it from him. It really surprises me how many other artists/producers/et al dont seem to consider or share this outlook. It just makes so much more sense to spend the time at the beginning dialing in the perfect sound going in than it does trying to tweek an otherwise poor recording to “perfection”.
Dude. Great job on this video. Ive been recording music for 18 years and the last parts of this video I would have explained exactly the same. Nice video
very good advice, followed the same some years ago also from this channel but the instrument cables are still missing from the necessary equipment list; these really should be added especially the one from microphone to audio interface.
Hi Joe- when you say Recording all together, do you mean Having multiple Inputs on the Interface to handle All Drums Mics, Bass DI, Gtr's Keys ( Stereo ) VOX Bk Vox...etc or running them through a Mixer and the Stereo OUT into Input 1 & 2 on Interface & LINKED? Sorry I love and watch your channel since you started your YT Channel ( Great for All) Just wasn't clear & if the "New Kid on the Block" would understand which way that you mean when your talking about a One TAKE w/ BAND? Most likely They may play as you mention together then Multi TRk & Over -DUB...Again you do Great Job ....it was just unclear on that (maybe they may think they need to buy several Interfaces & Daisy Chained in Order to Rec. ALL together at Once. :). LOL I know what you mean though. :) Thx again, George Amodei

Recording a band "all together' live implies to have multiple inputs interface(s).
@ right, I agree but again Joe is trying to let beginners know which way to go and Budget Gear so to do Live you would need to own several BUDGET Interfaces which doesn’t so entry level, it sound like a Gang load of Interfaces or just a 16 w/ Console or lots of 2i2’s … I don’t need to worry about this but just going off what Joe was saying. 🎚🎧🎹🎤
