👉 PLEASE NOTE: This video was filmed in June 2022, and explanations remain the same but some settings moved into Preferences: when a note/document is open tap the three dots ... -> Preferences Toolbar will look a bit different, for more details see this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-url1cUki9mk.html If you have a bit more time, and want to look at Supernote features in more depth, check out the links in the description! ☝ My top recommendation is my beginner guide to SN features (just 12 minutes) 🌿 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BcvVz8SbrJk.html
Thank you for this video, i just received and set up my A5x according to your recommendations. Look forward to watching more of your Supernote videos. Thanks again for sharing valuable information
super random silly question: Do you record these videos and speak your text "live", or do you record them silently, do all the gestures and then add voice over later?
It looks like you now have both the a5x and a6x. Have you done a current video on what you use each for? I am SO torn between which size to get so it's helpful to see case uses from people who have both and how it's working for them. Would love to know your thoughts!
I like keeping the cap in the loop…otherwise I lose it bc it snaps off. They released a new version like a day after I ordered 🤦♂️ but so far I’m happy and this is very helpfuL Rm3 coming out too!
@@Big-gp9bi ha ok that shouldn’t make me feel better but it does. I am still used to keeping the cap in the loop so it hasn’t bothered me. Uncapped reduces the risk i twirl the pen in my fingers which means I’m less likely to drop and damage tip.
Thank you for the review! I have a question: How does anti-aliasing work for small letters? is it comfortable to write small letters, is not them too jagged? and how do they compare in A5X and A6X, because A6X has more PPI, small letters should be cleaner and less pixelated.
Thanks a lot ! Your reviews and setups are very helpful. I am planning on buying a supernote a5x for mainly reading purposes. Can you please make a video on the reading experience and features of supernote. It would be very nice if you included mangas and comics in your reading experience as i plan to use a5x for it mainly. Thanking you again 😃
The features for reading are relatively basic (compared to how complex it can get on Boox) and I think other videos of mine and other reviewers have looked at it sufficiently :) Aside from landscape mode being added I think the MyDeepGuide videos have covered it in his in-depth reviews of the A5X/A6X. Viewing .cbz pretty much the same as PDF
A good introduction! Thank you! One question: if I handwrite a paragraph on the screen, during which, of course, many sentences will run over onto the next line down, and then I convert that paragraph to text, will the Supernote ignore the handwritten line-endings? I don't want to end up with a paragraph of print which is full of carriage returns (paragraph marks) which indicate where each handwritten line ended? But if the Supernote DOES insert paragraph marks at the end of each handwritten line, can one remove them all rapidly, perhaps via a "Find and Replace" facility? Thank you.
Hello Pixel Leaves! Excellent video! I finally decided to purchase Supernote based on your videos. Quick question - how can I create a brand new page in a notebook, similar with what I can do in OneNote? I have 2 hotmail calendars, can I sync both of them to the Supernote? Thank you so much for your help! I can't be more grateful.
I don’t feel comfortable giving advice I haven’t thoroughly tested in “real use” myself, and I personally don’t use cloud sync since I keep mine mostly offline for work reasons (sensitive notes)! I think the RU-vidr Everything CPO might have video on it.
Hey there, dumb question: on my A5X (system “up to date”) doing star on a page works, but I can’t find all those options in the Settings -> Display & Input -> Preferred Settings… I have just three config settings under there. Your video shows many. Any ideas? Thanks for all you do. I downloaded and watched all your Supernote videos on a plane yesterday and you’re pretty damn fantastic. “How to take better notes” was amazing too.
Now that I have both, I’m slowly arranging things to use one for mainly work and one exclusively for personal matters/tasks (e.g. as my only device during my wind down end of day). I think it makes the most sense and will help me keep better work/life separation and structure. I will say I prefer the smaller size for my desk space available at my workstation, though, so it’ll probably see more use for intense note-taking.
You have more options under the preferred settings than what is on mine. I just got mine today. And I did check for updates. I still do not have the Default template note, Handwriting antialiasing, Star Mark Recognition, or Snow annotation settings. Any ideas as to why mine does not have these settings?
What is you opinion on the latency of writing on the A5X? I am trying to decide between a Remarkable 2 and an A5X, but the writing latency is a huge factor personally, although the features the A5X comes with are too good to gloss over. Has the latency ever bothered you in any way, did it get better over time with updates etc? And if you have ever owner a Remarkable tablet, how would you compare the 2? Thanks!
I don’t have a RM2 to test against; it’s not officially available in my country. Voya at MDG tested latency in the March ‘22 update, and compared to other tablets: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LwqChe_PdZ8.html
Hi, your previous video has helped decide to buy my A5X and now i have been using for a few weeks and i love it. I have 2 questions: 1. As now you have 2 supernote, do you think its help to separate the usage between those? I am thinking of getting a6x due to e book annotation. I love to annotate in physical books, and i have kindle (it helps me to read on the go) but the feeling is different because i couldn’t hand write in my books. Does a6x helps to read on the go and how does it compare to kindle? The a5x is helpful to read pdf but too bulky to read ebook on the go. 2. Now you have Lamy and HoM, which one do you prefer most? I use HoM and staedtler jumbo now but thinking of Lamy too. Thanks. I love your video. Informative, compact, to the point and very attractive.
1 - I replied to someone else in the comments about how I will be separating my use between work/personal. As for vs. Kindle, the A6X is functionally the same as the A5X, just smaller, so you can compare directly yourself :) just imagine the same device you have but smaller. 2 - Right now I prefer the custom pen I made with the ceramic refill in the Lamy shell, because I like how the Lamy fits in my hand and the triangle grip.
Hi, maybe a silly question: is it possible to password protect certain folders/notebooks on the supernote? or to protect the whole device with a pin-code?
Why don't you use mail and calendar? It seems very useful to me and it's one of the reasons I am considering getting a supernote, particularly the calendar, I understand it can be connected to different sources such as google, outlook, etc. Is that right? Thanks in advance :)
I believe it just works with Google calendar. I don’t find it useful personally as I keep my device mostly offline for work reasons, and don’t like how it integrates with notes now (attached to the last day it was edited vs. day it was made). I prefer a PDF planner and a specific app for reminders (integrates well with my Apple Watch, MacBook)
Can your Mac mount that USB drive, or did you get those files you pulled over from some other source? As much as I love my Supernote, I have had no luck moving files to and from my Mac via USB.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve already tried that with no success and zero help from Ratta’s purportedly amazing support team. I’ll just use the bizarrely inconsistent cloud sync and chalk this up as an expensive lesson about doing all the research before buying.
@Eponymity1000 sorry to hear that, haven’t had any problems connecting my SN to my laptop via USB-C/USB-C cable (2020 M1 MBA). If it’s a USB stick your Mac can’t read then that’s not a SN issue, you’ll have to troubleshoot the drive (it may need to be reformatted etc) or your Mac
Hiiii. I have been using my A5x since five days ago and something really weird has happened. The information that I see on the screen is "split". It´s as if the screen has shifted to the right and the part that wouldn't appear on the screen is displayed on the left part of it, making it impossible to use, even tho the device still recognizes my pen as if the screen would show everything in the normal position. Have you ever seen something like this?
Is there a way to back up “Digest?” I had to clean install my supernote because of some issues I was having with the Kindle app but forgot about Digest. Of course, it was wiped clean when I set it up again.
