Setting up a prepaid mobile sim card for kids mobile phone plan

Having kids is one thing, having several kids that need phones is another!
I had an extra phone that I had been testing out (Letv X500) which was available for me to give to my daughter, I just did not want to add an additional line to my plan at this time.
I got the Simple Mobile prepaid sim card and prepaid Simple Mobile plan which I believe is owned by Tracfone.
I got the one dollar deal for the sim kit and a $25.00 prepaid plan which offers unlimited talk, text, and data. The network is under T-Mobile so your mileage will vary depending on location. Looking at the website, it also offers unlimited text and calling to international areas. It varies by country to landlines or both landlines and mobile. I'm assuming this is possible due to Simple Mobile using the T-Mobile network. They also state that you will receive a $10 credit for international zones that are not covered under the network. I highly suggest you take a look at their website before using your plan, just to be on the safe side.

It uses the t-mobile network. Had no issues. Coverage in your area may very with how much network system ia in place there. I.e. cell towers.

so when you put in the SIM, you will automatically get a new number? and can you refill that card or can you just cancel it after a month ?

no penalty fee and yes on refill. the $25 is the perfect amount. One thing is that you will feel spammed the first few days when they send you emails. It stopped after a few days, they will send an email when it comes time to renew, about 7 days to subscription ends.

Yes. But depending on where you get the phone, it may be locked to the carrier provider.

They have prepaid phone for Verizon I believe. You should be able to see the phone carrier support.

Sorry, it may be best to contact them directly. The only thing I can think of is a setting is restricting downloads. I tried doing a search on the topic as well but couldn't find any info regarding the problem you're having.

when you buy the prepaid sim with cash. Do you have to go online to sign up and activate the SIM card? Or just put in the serial number on the phone and it ready to go?

When the month is up on your $25 a month plan will you not receive any calls until you renew? Also if the month is up could you still make calls and texts on just WiFi?

I did not have it lag so I'm not sure if you will receive calls. I believe it'll just stop working. I did get several text messages in the beginning about deals and towards the end of the month as a reminder. But starting with the 2nd month it was a couple reminders by text. That was it.

This isn't used for burner phone purposes. It's for people who want a cheap phone plan or need a temp phone line. I wouldn't know the process of getting a burner phone. Sorry.

Probably possible if its a phone that handles certain broadband. Europe uses gsm of 900 to 1800 and us uses 850 to 1900. Ive used phones based for Asia with success here in the states. I believe most t-mobile based phones could but you'd be paying a high international rate to use us coverage in europe...

If you're talking about a sprint locked phone, probably not. You can ask sprint,/tmobile to unlock the phone if the phone is owned by you.

Yes that its 25 a month plan. Its unlimited data but the speed is throttled/slowed down after 3gb. Though I have truly not been able to see how bad of a slow down it could be since my child was on WiFi mostly.
