@Mtnfarmer. I’m looking at buying a planter. I’m trying to decide between a jd 71 setup or a 7000 series like what you have. I’d appreciate your opinion on which one you’d pick and why. Thanks in advance!
When I adjust mine to be good and level in the field the problem I have is at the end of my rows when I pick it up to turn around the unit doesn’t come off the ground all the way...my closing wheels stay on the ground and when I turn am afraid I’m going to bend or break the closing wheels. What is my problem and How do I fix this problem?
Shorten the lower links equally. On each link arm there should be at least two hole positions, remove the pin and place in the hole closes to the machine. Same with top link hole on tractor, use lowest on tractor and highest on machine so when you lift up it tilts it towards the tractor. You may be able to shorten the top link.
I have a very similar 2 row planter that I’m trying for the first time this year. I’m curious what seed depth you’re targeting for your corn, and also what type of seed meter you’re using? Thanks for your feedback!
Nice Video, I have R4's on my 2 series tractor and want to go to R1's because I heard they have much more traction than mine, I see that your tires are on the lower end of life and was curios to know how long they had been on and how much longer they will last with their current tread height, Thnxs
This one has a small cowl that can adjust to different seed sizes. I'm looking at equipment and have been learning a lot. About to buy a farm in Missouri!
I have a question for you. As far as your corn seed do you use all the same as far as maturity not asking for your secrets I don't need to know the variety or how many day just if you plant all the same corn seed. For example all 96 day corn
