Regarding remote access to geomagnetic data, remote access no longer supported. This was noted in the online documentation but now it's emphasized a bit more.
I figured that was the case, and actually found the note in the documentation after making this. It was one of those "right in front of your nose" moments that happens all too often to me when I'm looking for something.
