In this video I'm customizing and setting up my 2024 Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner. I am uncoiling it and adding in extra pages, with the goal of making this my home control journal (for those that are familiar with FLyLady).

Notes:
» I have access to a hole punch that will punch pages for coil binding. I realize this is unusual and not everyone has this. You can also ask an office supply store to punch pages for you (because they also usually have the proper machine for it) and just not bind it, or purchase a small hole punch and do it manually (which would take a long time since there are so many holes- but it is possible).
» Erin Condren planners (which is what I've done this to in the past) are sometimes easier to uncoil/recoil because the covers are removable, so they don't have to be included in the coiling part. The cover made this more difficult than usual.

I wanted to really give you the full idea of what it's like to uncoil a planner, but the process can be long and, well, boring. I tried to cut out/speed up what I could without taking away from the process. But if you'd like to just see the final result and planner setup, you can go to 21:04 for the flip through, and skip the uncoiling part. 🙂

I just frankenplanned my EC this week (I took a Hello Kitty LP and a daily duo and put together). Your “one eternity later” made me laugh because it literally feels that way in the middle of it all…it’s like, will this ever be over! LOLOL

🤣 I’m glad you appreciated it! I wanted to add the voice that goes with it (I think it’s from SpongeBob? but I’ve seen it in other videos too) but I couldn’t find a good clip of it to add. Your planner sounds awesome! I love recoiling to customize planners! It opens up so many possibilities! 😄

I am finding I like to use a analog systems (using a pen and paper vs an app 😂)for tracking my schedule more and more over digital. It is good that analog systems are still being produced. I remember Franklin Covey. Congratulations on your channel’s growth.

I love analog, but that’s probably obvious. 😂 I do a little with digital, but there’s just something about actually writing it down that helps me figure it all out better. I’m pretty sure Franklin Covey was my first planner love before I even really knew it. I remember my mom using it when we were kids. Thank you! I’ve loved watching your channel grow too and can’t wait to see all that’s in store! 😄

Thanks for watching! The hole punch (binding machine) was from Amazon. But know that they aren’t cheap. You can search for coil binding machine and you want a 4:1 pitch (usually). That’s how far apart the holes are spaced- 4 holes per 1 inch. The one I use is actually my Dad’s. We were making cookbooks for our whole extended family a few years ago, so he bought it for that. But I use it all the time to make my own notebooks, bind manuals and workbooks, or punch pages to put into my planners like this. So for us it was worth the cost.
