First day of shooting today with my z6iii. A bunch of our families kids jumping up and down like maniacs have a great time. 3D AF-C set to track people absolutely nailed every shot. Even when it felt like I missed it, it didn't. This camera is amazing. I was using it with the 105mm f2.8 MC VR. Just an incredible combo.
Picking up my z6iii today. Super informative video, wish you would have slowed down a bit and really showed what buttons you were pressing. Will definitely be watching this video a few more times.
"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference." ^ Applies to camera settings 😆
HI Taylor, love the content, thank you for all the vids. I'm a London based photographer who shoots maybe 5 weddings and 50 events per year (as well as property photography). I currently have 2 Z6ii's which i really like, but aside from the 14-30 and 70-200 2.8z lenses, i'm still using F mount with the adaptor (24-70 2.8, 85 1.4 and 35 1.4). I'm wondering whether you recommend changing to native lenses, ie the 85 1.2 which i massively desire..over upgrading the bodies right now in my situation? Also, the only snag i have from moving from dslr a couple of years ago is the slight delay when bringing the camera up to the eye with mirrorless...is it faster on the z6iii vs z6ii?
Nikon z8 raws are file 45-60mb (higher iso, more DR bigger file). I shot high efficiency * and it was around 30mb. The lowest high efficiency dropped it down to 20gb. I did the lowest raw for sport events when spraying and praying. Otherwise i use the High efficiency* star mode. Z6 24mp, my zf is more like 24-30mb. I just keep it at raw for most stuff. I am reviewing if i see any differences with HE and might make the permanence jump
You do loose data in the shadows, but it only becomes a problem if you push that shadow detail up by 2 or more stops. (at least thatrs what i could see with some rough testing)
Hi Taylor, Thanks for the quick overview of the new z63. My questions are: 1) Are you able to change the Focus Point Border Width? (On z8, it's Custom Menu button A11). And 2) How is the volume on the mechanical shutter, compared to the z62? Thanks in advance.
Hey Taylor, I changed the custom function button by mistake and want to go back to having it used for selection focus options, but, I can't seem to get there. Any help would be appreciated
I'm currently using the original Spmy A9 for weddings. I only really shoot stills, so just wondered if you think a switch over to the Z6iii would give me any benefits over the a9? I can't justify (nor do I want to) the a9iii, so just wondering if there's any good reason to change over currently.
When I switched from the D850 to the A9 for the silent shooting mode I loved the camera for the freedom it gave me to shoot without disturbing people or classical musicians, but I felt the colour quality was not as good on the A9. The A74 was better on this front (but noisy). With the Z6III I feel I have my A9 back but with better image quality. Win win.
@@liamgoodvisuals I wonder why. If you use the depth of field preview, it shows the effect of active d lighting in live view on the Z6II so it should be capable of showing that all the time on the z6III, I wonder why it doesn't.
@@bananaman-zd4lq oh I don’t know about the z6iii specifically. But all other Nikon cameras I use only reflect the d lighting when you’re in image review (photo mode)
I have my z6iii now and playing with settings - Personally, I like to have the histogram available in all display modes (I seem to recall that I could do this with my z6ii) but now it seems to only be visible TOGETHER with the artificial horizon indicator. I can't find any info in the uhb, have I missed something?. All answers welcome ...
Hi, d19 and d20 lets you customise what is seen in each display. I like having histogram too but wish it had zebra for highlights in still as well as video.
