@@bevandarke2300 Bettas jump from one body of water to another in the wild to suit their environmental needs. Meaning they don't live in shallow places their whole lives.
It always warms my heart to see a betta get a decent home. Those 2-liter "tanks" where they are kept are torture chambers. Good job, and what a beautiful tank you set up for him!
Hello, I have a question I have a friend who betta fish doesn't really swim it's like floating vertically and one of its eye is white do you know what to do? I want to help her with it because she does not know what to do
@@jellykelly07. aw, what a shame... I used to live in Fort Myers and go to a pet store named Animal Kingdom. The staf was amazing and one of the employees and the manager helped me out with my sick betta 2 or 3 times, giving me great advice. As for a regular Petco or such, I wouldn't be so sure.
@@nicoleannecollet wow that's nice, I will try again to go to the pet store this week, I am just very busy now and my friend can't take care of it so she is planning to sell it to me but I need to know how to properly take care of a betta
You are my newest favorite channel. I work in travel with the likely aspects of losing my job in addition to dealing with the anxiety of this corona virus. Your channel has really helped me with relaxing and taking my mind off the chaos, so thank you for creating
This actually made me like “damn, poor little fish is going through a lot right now.” And then “damn, what a good betta dad to think of a fish so importantly.” You’re a good man, whoever you are. 🙌🔥
I love the simplicity of this tank. Beautiful Betta. I have those Mexican river pebbles. Love the deep color. Can’t wait to use them in a scape. Love the contrast between the light and dark. Beautiful new scape.
This is a very good video, I got my betta 5 months ago and she’s doing great! I have her in a 5 gallon. If anyone’s looking for tank, ages for a 5 gallon betta tank, if your bettas not aggressive then you can add snails or shrimp
I don't know if he did this but you do need to set up a nitrogen cycle. you could buy a starter bottle of bacteria and add it to the filter. and after about two weeks to a month water will be ready for your fish. option B is you already have an established tank and you can use water from there. But the way he did his tank was awesome.I'm not sure where he's living but it must be pretty hot because his tank doesn't have a heater. I'm an American living in Taiwan and I've been in the beta hobby for 2 years. It's so hot here we don't even need heaters for bettas. Sadly in Taiwan they tell you to put your Betta and a half gallon tank I only do that if bettas are babies. Most of my tanks that I have or at least three to four gallons. I have 7 betas because my landlord said I couldn't have aym more. I have a frog and a cat. He is a very nice landlord he actually let me keep all of my pets including my dog who went to heaven. Lucky was my French bulldog he was black and white I adopted him and he lives with me for 7 years. Then my roommate's cat who was his best friend came to live with me. I know if he's with Jesus and in a very beautiful place. There's a cool story behind that and how I know that but I still miss him every day.
Can I know if AC 220-240V 50 Hz POWER : 6W good for betta fish in 5 gallon? I just bought this light but I think that it is too bright and my betta hate it.
I just bought a betta and the seller (in Thailand) said keeping him in a cup (maybe 1,5 Litres) was fine and that he was keeping his fish that way and change out the water once a week. Currently he is in a jar but it is a pretty sad sight and I already bought a bigger (small) 4 gal tank. I just hope he doesn't die on me, because I am crap about water parameters :/ Since I didn't cycle the new tank, what should I do? I have an established guppy tank/mini pond outside, so I will put some water from there in the new tank... but what next? How often should I do a water change to prevent toxic build up? 50 Percent waterchange every two days?
@@Sky2Mina no I find that if I don't change the water very often and use the filter with a sponge decrease the low because betas don't like strong current they seem to do pretty well. Right now I have my beta anthem he's taking a bath and some methane blue and his tank I just did like a like water change and I made sure that the gravel was cleaned well I didn't change all the water but most of it. His cave still has green algae and good bacteria and filter sponge. Always to say that he's doing well I've had him for a month usually I give them the five month mark. they can make it past 5 months most likely they'll live for a year or two. I have two bettas that I've had for over a year and the rest I've had for about all I'd say two months but they seem to be doing just fine. I feed them Omega one pellets and a good brand that's from Taiwan cuz I'm living in Taiwan. I usually feed them every other day and I give them about five or six pellets so if I can digest their food cuz they have small intestinal tracts. These batch of five fish have not developed any illnesses. in fact some of my tanks actually begin to have small white worms which is an indication that the nitrogen cycle is doing well and they I think ate everything cuz when I stirred the water all the worms were gone. I have 10 tanks set up but currently I have five healthy bettas and I hope they continue that way
Me encanta el betta, definitivamente lo considero el pavoreal del agua aunque muy antisocial y peleonero q no puede convivir con otros peces. El Oscar también me gusta pero es igual de antisocial. . Muy buenos tus videos, ya me hiciste de varios. . .
I used to use river stones too for my Freddie. Keeping any animal in a small enclosure with zero exercise room or anything at all is sheer cruelty. Freddie had a 28 gallon hexagon tank and he made the prettiest bubble nests. I miss my little fish and lately I've been wanting to get another one. Thanks for doing this video and for showing how easy it is to make one little fish happy.
Just wanted to say I really love this tank. I'm actually me doing take two and tank three. My landlord said I could only have three betas so I feel sad However I did figure out what's killing my fish. If you have really low PH if you put crushed coral into the filter it will raise and stabilize your pH. I can't believe it after 2 days the water is completely stable no burning of any kind. Before I was happy to do water changes like big water changes three times a week I was watching your video because I want to have ideas on what to do for tank two and tanl three
My question is, where does one draw the line on what cruel is regard to tank size. Because even this one or a 10 gallon one is still small compared with the rivers the fish comes from
When I was little I had a purple betta fish named Nemo and we had him in a big tank just like that one all by himself, he was happy and stayed with us for many years :')
@@sirenamendes8604 yup, purple ones are rare but you can see in some betas they have a slight purple color and that's because of breeding. They are hard to finds for they are hard to breed.
You are so much inspiring to me...I have been following you, learning from you since last April (no I'm not doing any April fool) and finally came up with an idea to open my own channel in my own language. Love from Calcutta big brother.
I am happy to hear it, the journey of a thousand steps always starts with one step. You have already walked there, continue to learn and try, one day you will definitely succeed.
@@Lorgayle1 I'm new to the hobby, I was wondering why as well, so, I googled it and here is the answer I found, A fish feeding ring is nothing more than a ring that floats on the surface of the water, either free-floating or attached to the side of the tank. ... Because the food is contained, it doesn't end up scattered all over or pulled into the filter, which allows more of it to be eaten. Hope this helps 😊😎
I have been keeping hamster for a long time now and I wanted to try something new so after watching this video i kinda want to own a betta fish but well research first before deciding to own a betta fish
Did you cycle the tank before putting your fish in? I’m just curious as to whether it’s a mandatory step. I bought a bigger tank (heater, filter etc. He’s in a 1 gallon at the moment ☹️) And as much as I want him out of that small bowl I don’t want to put him in a different aquarium right away for him to get sick from ammonia/nitrite poisoning! I just want my Zumi to be happy 🥺
