I don’t believe so Richard - but just put it in a matchbox or soothing like that - it’ll work just as well in a cardboard box :)

Obviously I don't work for Vonets but if it's not working it's worth double checking that it does work on something else for example you can switch off your laptop wi-fi and then attach it to the LAN Port - and USB (for power) now if you saved the correct password the laptop should communicate with your router if it does then It could be a range issue - try re-sighting the bridge - do you know for sure that if you connect a LAN cable from the direct tv receiver to the router that it does work (this would test the LAN Port) - also it may be possible to check in the software of the receiver that the LAN port isn't off - also maybe there is a software update for your receiver - I hope this helps

sorry, I don't know the answer to that one - what I do know is everything I've used this with it works as I show you in the video you set up on a PC or laptop then the device you want to make wifi MUST have an LAN connection - if it does then it can work - I'm only using the USB in the video to provide power but you could just as easily do that with a small mains adaptor

+William Gerolami well a password is to stop unofficial access to your router from someone in range of it (for example someone sitting outside your home) if you or someone has changed it you need to know what to and with the best will in the world I can't know that - check what came with your router when you signed up - check paperwork your service provider supplied you with - possibly call your provider you may not have set a password in which case go on the internet and see what is the default password for your router - often it's "admin" could be a simple number or it could be "password" but change it and note the new password somewhere if it's any of those things

+john mondou (Doejaaren) most likely problem is an error in the saved password - there is no fail safe if you(anyone) inserts an incorrect password the device is stupid - it'll save you incorrect password but of course the bridge can't connect because the password is wrong!

+Dennis W Sorry Dennis I'm not an expert on all things Vonets - it does sound possible but you know the range of these things can be seriously undermined by solid objects that the signal has to pass through I can say in the normal/average home the item I sell does what it's designed to and does it well

HISATdotCOM Thank you for the reply. I don't need much more range than I'd get out of a regular device, so it should be fine if what they claim has any truth to it. I'm only hesitant because I can only get it from china and thus won't be able to return it in case it doesn't meet my requirements. I'll spend some more time looking at reviews and shopping for outdoor devices.

Hello, I found a way to make it plug into an Xbox One using cellular network even with a Macintosh. 1. Reset Vonets device. 2. Reset Safari's for the last 2 days, and do not plug in. 3. Look for a new wifi that says Vonets. 4. Hook up via default password. Let me watch video for next steps.

6. Next screen. Use hotspot password Got to look up the rest.

If a piece of hardware has a lan connection but doesn't have Wi-Fi this effectively adds that feature it's more slightly older designed tech that needs it because more and more new tech has Wi-Fi built in

Benjamin Cruz , yes BUT the PS4 has a built in wifi option so if you configure your PS4 correctly and assuming it’s not broken you don’t need it - earlier PlayStations don’t have wi-fi option though

HISATdotCOM ohhh I was asking because my internet on the ps4 runs better when it's on the Ethernet cord. So I was looking at this to maybe save myself of getting a 200ft Ethernet. Does it work the same if I do get this?

Benjamin Cruz if you have a weak or unreliable wifi internet you need to use a bridge or use this as a bridge so PS4 talks to bridge which talks to router and vice versa this means the 200ft becomes (potentially) 100ft + 100ft

No idea sir, this video is old now but as I said in the video the only way it would work for me was to use internet explorer (now Edge)

@@tony.hiscox but there's no Microsoft browser on either Apple Macintoshes or Android phones. So what do I do to log in?

@@jackofallgamesTV maybe you should write to Vonet about the problem - I’m a user passing on my own experience for the benefit of all - another simple way is pickup an old windows PC from a junk shop/ebay anything that works and then you can use edge/explorer

@@tony.hiscox have you tried Firefox? I tried Safari and Chrome so far. If not, maybe I should. I will write to Vonets. However Vonets.com is out of business, and vonets.es hasn't written back in a week.

@@jackofallgamesTV almost certainly I did because I used to prefer Firefox and I certainly had Chrome forever and as I say in the video I didn’t think it would or should matter which Browser I used but it really only worked with explorer (and does work with edge (explorers replacement) too

I bought some of these to resell and I agree with you that the maker doesn't explain the usage and set-up very well but remember I made this video to help people, clients of my own that had one and of course anyone buying one from any other source, you can't set them up at the point of sale (POS) because they have to talk to the clients router - well that can't be done at POS because of the range of a wi-fi router 100 Metres at the most - i can tell you that many have watched this video and succeeded in setting the VAP 11N up

Thank you, I'm not doing point of sale. POS men't something else. :D No, I need this as a bridge. I've connected it to my PC, Router, and a Tevo box... I can change the password, etc. The problem is, I do not know how to make it communicate w/ the router. I can see the 2 different WIFI signals on my PC, yet they will not communicate w/ each other. It's most probably something simple like an incorrect address!?? Again, thank you.

Sorry - I think I've got it now POS = "Piece of sh**" one occasion where the "define: ...." command in google didn't really help me! :) as I said I'm not the maker and the primary purpose of this video was to help my clients buying the Triple-Dragon and wanting it to be wi-fi I kind of stopped worrying about it once It was doing what I(my clients needed it for) - I think that as you say it's all about knowing where you're going wrong - I've been supporting clients for years and instructions for these things are like mathematical formulas and if you miss a bit or misunderstand a bit you don't get the result you should
