In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ru-vid.comUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Hey brother good video I just picked up the Garmin 93sv many years ago a fisherman, just bought a boat too getting into it once again Thanks for the video
Thank you for doing this instructional video to help dummies like me. I'm just beginning to learn the Garmin units but I am determined to learn how to use these great tools. Thanks and God Bless TomCat
LFE I really appreciate you doing a video on the 93sv uhh I have the same unit and last year I was so frustrated trying to figure it all out. you walk though the whole thing made it so much simpler and easy to understand and I really appreciate it. I am a crappie man myself and love all your videos. Peace!
Everyone has a different opinion on this scroll speed. Mine is set to 2 while trolling 1 mph. Someone else has 10, some auto and you at 5. Also, with the 54, once you get past 60-70 ft on SI, it gets dark. I have mine set to 50 ft. Perfect for me. Good video.
Thanks for the encouragement!!! Sorting things out in the personal arena so that I can dedicate the time necessary to growing the channel. I'll be back tho thanks !!!
See that's why I like Garmin, when I got my new boat and told my friend he could play around with the hummingbird, I literally had to bring the boat in because something was done. Upon asking the repair guy said he had to contact Hummingbird... basically no one could tell me anything. The boat was less than 2 months old. I actually called G3 and told them about my experience and they wanted to send me another Hummingbird. I'm not sh!ting you.....these companies just suck because of their employees. I told her I wanted a supervisor, basically they sent me a check and I bought a Garmin touch screen with SV for the same price that a low grade mega down imagining only..... with no touch screen. Hummingbird is trash
Hi thanks for watching . I fish from an Old Town Sportsman Autopilot 120 Kayak . My Kayak has mounts underneath it for the transducer. If you gave a more traditional boat I don't think I would be able to make a video that would help you at this moment. . When I upgrade in the future I can definitely do a video on the transducer installation. If you have an Old Town as well them yes I can do a quick video on how I run the wires .
Thanks for watching!! Personally I still use the gt54 and have never tried the 56. From other reviews I have seem it doesn't seem like a game changing upgrade so I'll probably hold off until I can catch a deal on one.
Where did you install the transducer and when you run your motor, does your transducer pick up the noise from your motor? I have the same 93sv and kayak and have been searching for a solution to eliminating noise from the motor thru to the fish finder.
Thanks for watching! When I first got the unit I heard the reports of interference well but haven't really seen much interference from the trolling motor . I installed mine under bow the motor where the pre-drilled holes are. The one thing I did differently is to put padding between the wire amd trolling motor bracket so they don't touch . My ferret ring broke about 4 months ago and haven't been using and haven't seen much difference.
