You're welcome. Sorry about the prices. Some of the prices weren't obviously placed on specific products because they were having sales. I only showed the ones I could easily see. I had intentions of giving a breakdown of how much we spent but I was really tired when I back home.

It's always been a thousad dollars for a start until you build your credit history with good credit scores.

Seems most of those people who got higher limits already have credit history. Some of them may have initially come as students before applying for PR or they even have Canadian experience. Some people have also gotten jobs before they landed so that will let them access higher limits.

I landed last year June as a PR, I use cibc as well, and I was given 3k dollars as limit for the very first credit card application. I got the credit card 3months post landing.

I don’t think you need a bank that gives you more than 1500 credit. The higher your credit, the more chance of being in debt.
