Some orthodontic treatments require movements that require the root to move at the same pace as the crown. This is always a challenge because the force is being applied at the crown, far from the theoretical, unavailable point know as the center of resistance. Invisalign aligners have the ability to place moments of force that will allow for this root "translation" BUT not as reliably for all teeth as a bracket and wire system. In this case, I wanted to set the teeth up in a manner that would be more realistic and meet with less resistane, and see how it would look before approving case.
