Trying to set this up but cannot get past the HD Toolbox option, when I start the toolbox it gives me a message saying there is no driver and all,options are greyed out, then when I select the icon information there is nothing in the box it is empty so I cannot change any text. Tried this in both FSUAE and Winuae exactly same problem.
This is great, thank you. I've just got a 1200 and i'm trying to figure out the best way to get programs onto the CF card hard drive. Loading them via adf in FS-UAE then dragging them to a Drawer on a CF card partition?
Awesome video and very clear explained. Sadly my A500 + IDE Controller AlfaPower won't boot with my CF Card created following you're guide. Am I missing something? I can boot of the .hdf HDD in FS-UAE. I also used RPI Imager to copy the file to my CF like you explained. But when I put it into my Controller the card seems to be checked (short LED activity), but then it stops and Kickstart 1.3 bootprompt shows up.
Another program to try is Win32DiskImager. What ROM does your A500 have and does it have acceleration? I'm not familar with AlfaPower board. Also my setup was for an A1200 so you'd probably have to change that to an A500 instead.
Thank you for the nice video! However, when I try to save the scsi name change in HDToolBox is says that my installation disk is write protected. Running FS-UAE on Mac M1. Do you know what might be the reason for this?
5:54 Interesting little hack, Under usual circumstances you'd see a 'DH0:NDOS' on workbench, but this time you don't Is that because of the partition type ? Single vs RDB?
A real amiga would have scsi.device in the Kickstart. Because it is emulation we can use uaehf.device which access the virtual hard drive. It is a device that is shown to the amiga side but on the PC side it's the vitual disk image. In this video I was using RDB mode so it was treating the image as an entire hard drive rather than just one single partition. :-)
Hello Mikey, I have an Amiga 2000 hd (A2K), I've installed a TF536 and compact flash adapter, and was wondering what rom from the FS-UAE should I use as my A2k has a Kickstart ROM of 3.1 ? (I can never find the ROM for A2k)! I purchased the download from Amiga forevere etc etc; Looking forward to hearing from you, Paul :)
Hi, I have followed your HDF creation to the point after partitioning and restarting the Amiga emulation. I get an error screen saying "Not a DOS disk in device DH0". I have tried this twice and I get the same error. can you help?
Sir your tutorials are perfect! I followed your tutorial and i managed to install whdload , setting hard drive,, ibrowse. I downloaded protracker2 using ibrowse from aminet , but after running lha x command and installation cant run it. Similrar problem with python installation. Could you please show us how to do it properly. Thanks
It says "unable to open your tool pt2.3d" also "python program failed (error # 8000000B) waiting for disk activity to finish." when trying to run python typing python from cli.
insert media disk 1-install.adf 2-workbench.adf 3-locale.adf at start up. Not a valid dos disk means that the hard disk is not formatted and it is defined as booting device, computer tries botting up from unformatted and unistalled disk. Delete your hard disk file, create new one and follow the steps.
Wouldn't work anyway on Amiga 1200 with CF... Because AmigaOS4 requires PowerPC chip. Up to date versions of FS-UAE can now emulate Amiga OS4.1 pretty much perfectly today.. But you need a Cyberstorm equipped Amiga then it should work eg Amiga 4000 or 4000T model
