Sounds like a good plan you guys will some nice racing with this setup with this setup you guys made it a divers car you guys are going to have to make it win or you won't have fun see on the top end.
Hi Jim, could you tell me the specifics of the aluminum tube that you make/cut yourself please. Diameter, outer and inner and length. Also what glue you use to secure it, thanks.
Hi Jim can you tell me if the added ballast will help on a Carreras track? I am setting up the same car as yours. Also on the front of your car it looks like you have three tungsten weights. My thin tungsten weight about 1.8 grams each. Seems you are using three of them. One more point we are only allowed silicone tires. Does that change the set up? Thank really like you channel. Have learned a lot from it!
I've never raced on Carrera, so really can't answer your question. However, the motor has magnetic downforce on Carrera so I doubt you would need the tungsten. I have about 2 grams of tungsten putty next to the guide. I have never raced with silicone tires, so can't give you any advice on that either. All of may racing is done on wood tracks with rubber tires.
I just got mine...Im sooo disappointed at the lack of detail in the body of the 720. The vents, fins, detail of the doors and everything else is just imprecise...in my opinion.
Wow ! I really like your idea to replace the motor pod nuts with the nylon insert lock nuts . What size did you use and where can i get them ? Thank you .
Jim: Another great tuning video. You seem the only guy out there giving precise tuning tutorials, thx. Which diameter Slotting Plus combi axle fits the NSR McLaren ? Link to Motown where they will be selling them please.
Great vid Jim, look forward to see the AMG tuning setup, as I have two of them coming by post for the next year GT3 tournaments around here in Mex City.👍🏼
@@norcalslotcarsceneandvinta3518 Hi Jim, I have a fair amount of experience with the Sideways Ford GTE since I raced it at the last GTE race at Electric Dreams. Happy to provide any info that could be helpful. Walt has my number. The biggest thing is switching the motor pod to a Slot It (if your rules allow). The stock pod can be inconsistent with all of the mounting points being on the same plane, and caused me all sorts of chassis distortion. Second is to either tap or enlarge the front axle grub screw holes. These crack very easily, so either run a 1.6mm or 1/16" drill bit through them, or tap them. If you tap them then I recommend putting a small dab of rubberized CA glue on your grub screws and letting it dry before you put them in. This helps keep them in position. Same thing goes for the NSR green chassis. The front axle uprights are especially brittle on these (as you may already know).
