Im paying for g suite, I clicked the cog wheel/settings and the CUSTOM URL is nowhere to be found. Is anyone else going through this problem?

Try this: 1. Make sure your site is published and note its published URL 2. Sign in to your Google Workspace Admin console 3. Go to Apps > Google Workspace > Sites and open Custom URL 4. Use the Add custom URL button (the ✚ icon)

@@campbellsjournal6537 It is a browser thing. Open a Chrome browser and magically everything is where it should be.

I purchased my domain, but when I create my site it doesn't show the "custom URL" option. Can you help me?

It's now called Custom Domains, do you see that option? If you still don't do you have a Google Workspace account?

@@StuffedBox I do have google workspace. In fact, someone that is a web designer and does that for a living tried to help me and he couldn't understand why it wasn't letting me do it, either. he said I needed to contact google

Are you using your corporate Gmail account? That is usually turned off by your IT admin. If you create a Google site from your personal Gmail account, you'll see the custom domain.

If you don't see the custom domain so you can connect your domain URL, it is most likely locked by your Google Workspace Admin. The site I created was done from a personal Gmail account.

Go to your Domain and select it. Then select the Website tab > Select Build a website >Look for Simple site (Google site). then you'll see the Use existing site button

Works. You just have to include the www before your domain name when typing it into the browser.

How you got the IP address in A Records in godaddy DNS. I'm still searching for it and got to know that google doesn't provide Hosting IP address.

When I go to forwarding at Godaddy, it unchecks the 301 box if I click on the forward with masking button. It shows a selection of the three choices, not broken in to two sections like in your video. It seems to be forwarding correctly, but the custom domain does not show in the URL bar, only the sites.google url. How do I fix this?

Hello! It keeps showing that my web page is blocked? “Access to the web page you were trying to visit has been blocked in accordance with company policy. Please contact your system administrator if you believe this is in error.” Is this something I can fix or do I really have to coordinate with our company’s tech support? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Hi! Great tutorial! We have a problem, during the verification process google doesn't show up anymore the txt file. The process starts from cname with host and target and we have reset the domain dns. Where we can get the txt? Thanks!

Hello, thank you for the tutorial. Quick question: after i've verified my domain, I try to add the cname but my domain provider won't let me name the cname "www", it says it has to end with a ".". and when I try that it won't work. Any solutions?

The url for the CNAME, add a dot at the end. So for example, ghs.googlehosted.com. (Note the period at the end of the url)

This was GREAT HELP! When I forward from godaddy, it changes my nameservers back to go daddy. i called they say i cant forward to my google sites https or it will always change them back? so how does it go to my google sites https? ...I FOUND THE PROBLEM - don't do the https forwarding from the new name servers on go daddy skip that! it will change the name server back! just go to cloudflare and change the ttl/ssl off of of FLEXABLE to FULL..!!! Please let me know how to contact you if you ever hire out services like this!!!
