I am interested in setting up vim from scratch. I haven't updated my setup from since Jeffery Way posted a series on Vim back in 2013. I would like to try fzf, and ranger.
Can you make a minimal neovim tutorial with only the most essential plugins so complete newbies like me aren't overwhelmed with all these plugins at once?

How could you switch between 2 tabs in 4:51? I played slow motion but only see you press (space). I try Space + 1, 2, 3, but it does not work. In default vim, 1gt, 2gt work, but after installing Neo Mach 2, It does not work anymore :(
that is interesting ! thanks for this video, I must say I'm stil on vscode, the extensions are really good, debuging, and so on out of the box is a major pro for me ! Now I'm following the onivim project, which is vim/vscode, (without electron) seems really good!

They all said no file founded... but I can see all the files in the same directory. What should I do? Example: "no file '/home/kxk/.config/nvim/autoload/plugged/vim-airline/lua/colorizer/in it.lua' no file '/usr/share/nvim/site/lua/colorizer/init.lua' "
How do you dynamically setup your CONDA environment based on what Py script you want to execute. I work on a project at a time that may require a different conda environment. How can you let VIM choose the interpreter and also how do you execute the script?
Any advice on what fonts are needed to make the glyphs for script type ( python, bash, JS etc ) appear? I have Ubuntu 20.04, NerdFonts + Fontawesome and I still can't get it working :(
i see at 5:25 that you have very fast keyboard scroll (with arrow keys). how did you setup it? and can you show me, please, the ranger configs. i like very much the colorscheme.

nice. I like your autocomplete...definitely checking your configs, and adding sneak. FYI; I know you were looking to replace coc, but coc actually has a 'colorizer' built in, so you don't need to add another one :CocInstall coc-colors (or something like that, your auto complete will find it).
Everytime I open a python project a get: [coc.nvim] The "pyright" server crashed 5 times in the last 3 minutes. The server will not be restarted. Do you know what could go wrong?
so in vs code I use the build terminal with split-view to spin up multiple things like build scripts with watchers and web servers etc.. can you recommend some workflow in nvim that makes this easy.
My neovim shows weird borders at the right and bottom as if it was pasted on my terminal(whose background shows as borders) but top and bottom of neovim aren't of perfect size. I don't think there is padding or something so I'm confused as to what caused it...
hello there, I have been using neovim in windows and did't found any problems , but in arch linux neovim always opens in the terminal. is there a way to open it just like in windows. I mean I cannot even use nerdtree and all the plug-ins and also it becames transparent (because my st terminal is transparent) :( that is the only problem I find with arch otherwise I like it a lot, if somebody could answer it would make my day :)

@@chrisatmachine Windows OS, I decided to give a try in my desktop machine for C++, I just can't find a good IDE so going back to the always good vim (nvim in this case).
I think easymotion plugin is way better than sneak. You can just jump to any word directly, instead of typing s and then the beginning letters of the word you need to jump to. A few people don't like it as they say it's an "antipattern" to vim, but in this case you are essentially doing easymotion like jump on multiple matches anyway.

Hi, thanks for you best course. I I converted my neovim to ide. But one functionality is missing. I am working in phpstorm via ftp with a project on a hosting. I am developing sites on wordpress and always work via ftp. I found one ftp plugin for vim, but it sends all files to the server. Also, I use gulp to compile scss and js (gulp webpack). Gulp also has a vinyl ftp plugin, only it also sends all files via ftp, not just the modified ones. Here in phpstorm, I'm working on a project through git, I made changes at work, sent it to github, then came home, opened phpstorm, made a git pull, and all changed files were sent to the hosting. This is the only thing that stops me from completely switching to neovim. I hope you will can help me.
@ChrisAtMachine, I followed your videos and GitHub page and install neovim on my mac but whenever I access my neovim and i see NVCode in my vim status instead of normal mode or insert mode. could you please help me to fix this..why do i have NVCode in my vim statusbar. please do respond. i need your help
Do you mean at the end when I was using sneak or how fast my cursor moves when I'm just moving it generally? Because if general speed is what you're after then you can run this command in linux. # Faster key repeat and delay xset r rate 210 40 If you look in the link in the description you will find my dotfiles I run this on startup in the .xprofile file.
@@chrisatmachine by typing n and Shift+n, once I search, all matches are highlighted by default. Btw the setup is pretty sweet. Especially modularising the config files
I honestly believe CoC is the best LSP on the market right now. This could change since Neovim is working on builtin support. But as of now I would always recommend CoC.
