I use node.js 14.16.1 for SPFX environment. When I ran: npm install -g yo@4.2.0, keep getting self sign cert chain error even though I have already set this in .npmrc file. also run them in command line, strict-ssl=false ca= NODE_TSL_REJECT_UNAUTHORIZED=0 still in vain I ran npm from /users/id/ directory
Try These Steps Step 1 : Explicitly Set Registry: Sometimes, SSL certificate issues can occur due to conflicts with registries. Try explicitly setting the registry to npm's official registry by running: npm config set registry registry.npmjs.org/ Step 2 : Clear npm Cache: Clearing the npm cache might help resolve any cached SSL-related issues. Run: npm cache clean --force Step 3 : Update npm: Ensure that your npm version is up to date. You can update npm using npm itself: npm install -g npm@latest Step 4 : Install yo Locally: Instead of installing yo globally, try installing it locally within your project directory. Navigate to your project directory and run: npm install yo@4.2.0 Then, you can use npx to run yo commands, like npx yo. @@skillspragati We have to go through our company's repo, can't go to npm registry directly since open source needs to go through quarantine. I ignored this error, proceeded with later steps, it seems to be fine in that gulp serve works.
