First…I have never in my RU-vid life checked daily for a reaction video like I did waiting for you two to get to Seulgi! My Reveluv heart thanks you still for the two weeks of Red Velvet. I rewatch those episodes as faithfully as I do RV mvs. Thank you ladies! Love the channel. Love the content. Love you both! Now for the rant…the unintentional misfortune of Red Velvet is that they quickly became a niche group that people didn’t know what to do with. With their never before seen concepts and clearly distinguished duality…effortlessly switching between bright and wild to lethal alluring femme fatale girl crushes, people didn’t know what to do with or about them at first. Many still don’t even know the full lure of RV’s concept which is that they are actually dolls that come to life. But with that…promotions and marketing in this industry match sales and RV just does not sell as well as their discography suggests they would. As THE 3rd Gen gg other gg’s admire and industry professionals have nothing but praise for, they have never sold 1M copies of a single album. They have sold over a million cumulatively but not of a single release. K-pop/Korea is a money culture. This is known. And SM is at the top of the WTF list when it comes to their business decisions between who gets what budget for what comeback based on recent or prior sales. We Reveluvs have been screaming for better promotion from day 1! But the harsh truth is…while other groups are getting 1M preorders (in Korea) RV caps out in the 400-500k. Which is a crime on fans, really. But that’s what is reflected in their promotions. We Reveluvs need to take some responsibility for this. We are the fandom of inarguably THE MOST UNIQUE AND TALENTED GG IN THE BUSINESS. Everyone from fans to industry professionals to Billboard, Rolling Stone and every other critic and charting service says so! But…we’re not creating the demand for more in their sales. SM can’t see us. We can rant and rave all day on SNS but they only see the lines on the charts. That’s why Aespa and NCT have tons more content, promos, concerts, global appearances, etc. They sell in the millions. Not just because they’re late 3rd and early 4th gen but because their fandoms show up with debit cards in hand at the first whiff of anything going on sale. And…quite honestly, their fandoms are much larger and louder. RV seems to have a lot of “closet” fans who won’t skip their tracks if they play in the shuffle but…also won’t necessarily spend money to stream on iTunes or buy the album. RV has the best discography and mvs in the game and have never had to twerk or talk sh*t or try to be sexy or do that weird grown ass women playing little bubble gum girl cute crap! They have more female fans than male which is unique in itself in kpop for ggs. (And also why we never hear about them having weird stalkers like we do other ggs). But with all their uniqueness and all the whining we do about WHY ARENT THEY GLOBAL STARS…a lot of the fault lays in our wallets. We’re fewer in number for sure but if we want SM to treat RV with the same money backing they do their other groups…if we want to let them know that AROUND THE WORLD they are still 100% relevant, wanted, and needed in the global music market even in their 8th year - we gotta show up. And I don’t mean buy 20 copies just to put 19 up on eBay. We have to sell out shows in seconds (if we ever get them), buy out OFFICIAL merch (fan made stuff is cool but that doesn’t earn RV nor SM anything) in minutes, cap out shops’ preorder numbers in the first few days so they have no choice but to request restocks or more copies for preorder. (That’s something else most ppl don’t realize…it’s the stores/outlets that request a number of preorders - also based on sales. They aren’t going to request 10,000 copies to only sell 5000 then have to figure out how to get rid of the rest, take a loss by putting them on sale or a major loss by sending them back. Labels use preordering to determine how much to spend on printing the appropriate number of copies while reducing waste. That’s every label. Not just SM. Labels and stores don’t want to end up being warehouses for unsold merch or have to eat a loss because they asked for or printed 1M copies on faith then only sold 400k. That’s the business basics of supply and demand. We aren’t demanding enough for major supply). Anyway…we have to prove to SM that RV are worthy of global marketing and promotions budgets by spending more. I have every version of everything RV ever released including concert dvds and khinos…everything. Who the hell needs 5 or 6 copies of the same damn cd? I only buy official SM RV merch…and because I have no bias in RV.. i have 5 member versions of every damn thing. It’s insane. But a necessary duty of a fan who wants their favorite gg to stay in the game as long as they possibly can…happily doing what they want to do knowing that they are being rewarded for their efforts by fans so their label knows they are a major asset in the company’s revenue stream! We may not like it but the fact of the matter is…the music business is 90% business, 10% music. Fan service isn’t just about artists wanting to show their appreciation for your support. It’s like live commercials. They are selling a product. Themselves. We want more RV RU-vid content and for them to stop putting shows like Level Up project on had to reach and get translations for streaming services…we gotta up our views. How tf did Seulgi NOT GET at least 10M views in the first 24 hours? That’s…that’s the real injustice. And it’s not because it wasn’t promoted. That trailer was mega budget. MEGA! But so far…SM is likely in the red recouping what they spent on just the trailer. BUY BUY BUY!!! Not spending money to support your faves then complaining about their promotions is like not voting then complaining about who is in office. It’s…. No!

This solo was so dope.She suits the dark and rnb sound so much !The whole album was amazing. I need more but I’m happy everyone is loving it. UNFORTUNATELY Most idols will likely never transition into successful or respected solo artists even if they are popular while in a group.(however many large fandoms with a “stream heavy to break records” mentality, do make it possible to be successful as a soloist based on popularity too). but to be respected by actual musicians you need musical talent ). Maybe 1 member from any given group will be successful soloist based on popularity or talent or BOTH. SEULGI IS BOTH ! For red velvet Seulgi has always been the best Of both worlds . She’s an insane idol performer from the “big 3” and has a voice/skills that gives her great potential to thrive as a artist. Let’s be honest, She is easily the one of best dancers in the industry and would be main vocalist of most groups including RV If the insane talent who is Wendy was not in the lineup. Also She has a very natural personality and is very genuine. YOU CAN TELL THAT SHES NEVER TRYING TO BE MORE OR LESS THAN WHO SHE IS. She’s a private person but she works hard to sound her best on every track. Also can’t forget how unique her beauty is. Her solo proved to me why she’s is so many people’s ult in kpop. .

I'm never gonna stand up and outright defend SM for their blatant disregard for sending Red Velvet on more tours and releasing the "La Rogue" concert. That being said (and still true), we must remember they gave us (in recent years) the "Feel My Rhythm" and "ReVe Festival" albums, the Irene and Seulgi sub unit and bangers, Wendy and Joy's solos and now seemingly poured alot of money and artistic freedom into Seulgi's solo. And the results have been amazing in each their own way, which makes it even more baffling, they don't send RV on world tours. I know covid is to blame for some, but when they cancel RV and another groups concerts due to covid, and only reschedule one of them, it's hard not to take at least a bit personal on RVs behalf. Anyway, great reaction as always girls 🤘🏻👍🏻🐻
