Tried to only include the songs where they sing exactly the same lyrics (cuz otherwise I'd have to include their entire discography lol). That being said, there's still some songs I might have missed, but given that this video is 15 minutes long with like 30+ songs, I think its ok that i missed a song here and there lol
For me, where Wendy sounds hopeful, Seulgi sounds yearning / sad. When there’s wonderment in Wendy’s, there’s playfulness in Seulgi’s. Wendy’s is airy and pulls you out and up; Seulgi’s brings you to earth, in a layer of comfort.
Yes, Wendy brings a lightness and Seulgi feels grounding. What's interesting is that I recently heard someone saying something similar about Seulgi's dancing. Wow!
@@thezircadia i think when I see Wendy dancing she's always smiling looking happy and then you see Seulgi going all in and we realise she's such a beast on stage. Seulgi on stage is so intense and that you can't even say she's such a softie off stage in real life.
@@niketsinha18 What the person was saying was that she gives a feeling of weight in her dancing, like a very grounded presence - and I think it is DEFINITELY true - in contrast most kpop girls are trained to have a lightness in their style, so it really makes Seulgi stand out even more
*Seulgi's vocal color is very unique. She's one of the kpop artist who has a beautiful vocal tone in kpop industry. When you will listen to her for the first time, she will really catch your attention even if she will not do a high note because of that tone. There is something memorable with her voice i swear.*
I truly believe these two were meant to be in the same group together. They manage to complement each other - they can sound so similar yet at the same time completely different. Manifesting a WenSeul subunit in a few years 🙏💛💙
Wendy's tone is bright & clear whereas Seulgi has a darker & mature tone. But then suddenly you find a dark, round & heavy tone from Wendy & a light & playful tone from Seulgi, & you start questioning your whole life. p.s. Red Velvet discography is god tier & I can't wait for birthday.
Probably the greatest pair ups in any k-pop group and then you also have Joy to break you way when Wenseul are playing along in a verse. SM really outdid everyone by putting these three in same group and still using them to their potential. Long live RV vocal supremacy.
wendy's vocals have that matured power and feel like you're floating amid an array of clouds; seulgi's is honey-like and lilting, conforming to perfect riffs and melodies. but then sometimes they switch and i'm like damn okay i get it you girlies are really talented as heck lmao 😭
Oh but when they switch; like Seulgi’s light airy bridge in Wildside, and Wendy gets dark and gritty (i’m sure there is. Is it from RBB album? Can’t remember); when they switch, it’s pure red velvet bliss 😍
So true! I think it was in Sassy Me where reveluvs first heard that "darker" side of Wendy's voice in her verses... And I'm glad they brought back that side of Wendy recently in bsides like Beg for Me and Pose 😄
@@velvet-solstice7025 ughh. Sassy Me can punch me in the face, knock me down, step on my neck, and spit on me. I love that song so much it’s sad to see. When Wendy covers english songs too! You can hear her going a bit rougher. Also also!!! I got it: GoT the Beat’s Step Back.
Perfect example of red and velvet vocals Wendy being red and seulgi being velvet Wendy has this lightness in her voice in her voice and seulgi has this darkness and together their vocals complement each other so well
I say that all the time. They are all special to me and bring such happiness to my life, but there's just something extra about Wendy that hits me differently.
This reminds me of Seulgi saying their parents sometimes get confused about who is singing. I didn't get when she said that because I think they have very different vocals, but I kinda get it now.
Their own color and vocal suits them really well. I first learned each member name from hair color in happiness era and getting used to their vocals at the same time. Red Velvet totally genius because whenever i listen to their song i can also see the colors. Seulgi 💛 & Wendy 💙 Not just colors.. animal, fruits, weapon and drinks also really them. Red Velvet! It's Red Velvet! My Revel
i swear the universe moved just to have these two meet and be in the same group. their voice complement each other, their bdays aren't far apart, and they each consider the other as their best friend, their forever friend. 94z forever 💛💙
slightly off topic but rose scent breeze and body talk make me emotional every time I hear them, even just a snippet. the emotion in their voices is so clear, it's beautiful.
Nah Wendy voice hit different oh gosh I love Wendy tone voice so much it’s unique I never heard something like that and by she catch your attention with amazing voice without doing crazy high crazy high notes
I would consider the "Step Back" pre-chorus, at first Wendy does the "level" high note and Seulgi make the other "level" high note at the second pre-chorus too, great video btw 💛💙
I always say wendy's voice is strong she will lift you to heaven and bring you back to earth in a minute her voice is good like a new beginning or hopes love songs suit her the most... But then there is Seulgi her voice sounds so soft, soulful and hurting at the same time that's why I find the sad songs suit her more she can bring tears to my eyes, easily with the way she conveys every word through her voice... I personally like seulgi voice because that matches with my taste of music
Together they are powerful, thank God they're in red velvet together...they have their own flavour of voice which I really like...I love WenSeul friendship so much, really adore them...my bias is Seulgi, ngl I've become a fan cause of her dance...when I heard her voice, love her even more cause it's really the type of voice that I really like, her voice really suit with my music taste...I really love her solo debut album
What I notice is that Wendt goes into falsetto on higher parts while seulgi goes full voiced on most parts but both of their voices compliment each others also seulgi has a groove to her voiced that can't be matched ugh I can do this all day love red velvet soo much
Actually Seulgi is the one who uses falsetto, while Wendy uses head voice, the better technique, as she has one of the best developed head voices in kpop. Whenever they go into the upper register, Seulgi switches to falsetto, so it's disconnected, while Wendy's is a connected head voice
@@chrissyalapo-calg9748 that's not what they meant, 0:25 wendy went for more softer, easy, and light approach on the whole line and then switches to falsetto on that higher note, 0:30 while seulgi are not as soft and light as wendy there and doesn't switch to falsett on higher note
@@paledangels oh i see, well they didn't specify. But I meant in general when they're in the upper register, Seulgi uses falsetto and Wendy uses head voice
@@chrissyalapo-calg9748 both have connected head voice, and both uses falsetto, wendy does have much more superior development up there, but true seulgi utilizes falsetto more than wendy
What about Queendom in the part "Biga naeryeodo Strong and beautiful Modu dareun saekkallo wanseonghan Rainbow" Wendy at first chorus and Seulgi at 2nd chorus.
I never understood when some people said they got confused with Wendy and Seulgi's vocals... until I saw this compilation. Now I can understand why they might have been confused in some songs like 'My Dear' for example :)
Listening side by side this way, it seems they have similar range. I'd give Wendy the edge on technique and depth, especially in the more "Velvet" songs. But Seulgi's charm is undeniable! Thanks for this!
I have this theory that when the main vocalist is bestfriend's with the lead vocalist amazing things can happen like this duo because they genuinely love singing together. No tinge of jealousy. Heaven is when they harmonize then sprinkle joy in, you get God.
Wendy - This 💙 suits her. Her voice is soft, and calming, it comforts you - it's like ❄️ Seulgi - This 💛 suits her too! Her voice is edgy, and powerful. It reminds me of summer 🌞 So for me, their voice are match made in heaven!
Wendy's voice is more versatile and brings out more emotions especially in ballads, she can also give a sexy vibe with her low register, and there's no explanation for her high notes co'z she's exceptional, and that makes her the best main vocalist of her generation, even up to this new generation 💙
Yeah I tried to stay with only the same lyrics, cuz otherwise I'd have to include like every song from their discography 😂 (believe me, I was tempted tho)
