I think their algorithms are crap, but I could be wrong. I mean to have 4 options and have the same thing roll 4 times in a row? It happens A LOT is why I call their algorithms into question. The system as it is needs a lot of editing!
I messaged online that I'd have more luck in Vegas than these pathetic rolls. I had a perfect set of pants...max Int, Max life and max armor (all had stars)...rolls were crap and made it worthless...had almost the same situation with my amulet...no hellbent
@@homebrew2102 I feel your pain. The last straw was when I bricked 4 bows in one day. Found a 3ga one that bricked. Cashed in my gold for 3 more 2x ga bows all bricked. Logged off havnt logged back in
Really wish they would remove the weighting on rolled affixes...they know we want the most the ones that have the lowest chance....just let us pick what we want directly for a higher material cost or something. The fact that most players will only get like a couple of perfectly rolled items per season, even if they play ever day...is frustrating, shows that they are catering to the Sweats playing it for a living.

If u want good items, invest time or make game trash and give all items for every1 in 1st day like in d3. In PoE to get top possible items mirrored takes months of no-lifing 16/7. You helped my 1st time Elden Ring run. Cool to see you helping with this game too 😎 Also glad you're pushing for a tempering reset. Diablo by design resets after a season ends. Would be more fun to actually use the build how we want instead of spending time farming mats for it because something bricked, and then before u know it, a season ends or a midseason update changes the build, nullifying all that work. Darktide has a similiar problem with bricked weapons too. Simply not fun tbh
Nice video. But the crafting problem is huge, Too much RNG, unbalanced cost, simply as heel, no option to even fix one afix when you are rolling. I have spent up to 70 million to roll critic in a globes, being (teorically) one of the highest affix.... no sense. Anyway, thx for info, there are some very good advices and very useful info here :)
Ya honestly every piece of best in slot gear should be given to you when you hit max level with all tempering already done. In fact I think you should just get given everything right away, the dungeon grinding and looking for gear is a real time sink.

I just started playing d4 in the last week after not finding the fun on release. First. I appreciate the way you break it down for newbs like me. I have played a lot of Blizz games and looters like Division 2 (still active on that) so its nice to get a simple breakdown like this to compare. Second. One of the things i really like about Division is how easy it is to craft a build from drops. The way you can replace rolls and talents like how the affix, temper, aspect system works here are very similar. But for whatever reason Diablo here actively punishes the player when RNG doesn't go their way. That really boggles my mind. They don't even monetize it so it's not like they are pushing toward premium currency. It's just a system that wastes your time. The concept of resetting your item shouldn't even cost anything more than a fraction of gold if anything since you aren't getting back most of the materials you invested anyway. Peoples time is very valuable now and wasting it will turn players away from your game. If it takes weeks to get the gear for a good build together after grinding out the levels of a seasonal character and then you want to change build cause new season mechanic or mid season patch. That is demoralizing.
The fact that it's weighted and not equal further reinforces that it's not actually 'random'. Weighted random yes, but not random. Same with tempering, weighted random yes, but not actually random. Either they make it random, or don't, and allow people to pick what they want What I would like to see though is an enchantment option or another masterworking option to either change greater affixes or add them

Along with able to reset tempering, for obvious reason...I believe that when masterworking an item, once you get it to its first stage, you should be able to have it locked. So if you have a ring and you masterwork it the first four times to get that 25% on let's say attack speed. Then you continue to the next level of tempering, well then that 25% is locked since that's what you were shooting for. Now if the next tier gives you 25% on lets say something you don't want, well then you can reset it back down to that tiers rank. You don't need to reset it all the way back down to erase the first rank up of attack speed. It doesn't make getting what you want easier, because with each rank up, you still have to use materials, you still have the rng of it going to the stats that you didn't want, and you still have to pay that hefty $5mil to reset it..
Perfect content. And the ending is excellent. However the tempering is good, without the reset it will lock the gear to a single build. Besides the fact the tempering may ruin otherwise perfect drop anyways. Because of this I am building new character and keeping original one with no changes.
When i did my minion build, minion attack speed doesn't get altered in the stats list making very hard to know what's actually working (apart from minion attack speed on gear). but your attack speed does alter in game play. would be nice to have the minion attack speed show up getting altered during fights.
it actually very easy to determine what is the minion attack speed. you add both attack speed bonus and minion attack speed bonus from your stats and add the 45% from Frenzied Dead aspect
Ive had several pieces roll with +skill stats on a reroll. Though you should have a stopping point when it comes to cost the more chances to get the stat you want the better odds you have to get it. Reroll everything until a point of gold that seems too costly to you. The chance maybe slim but it's a zero if you just pass on the piece of gear.

You don`t need any attack speed greater affixes for shadow mages build unless you don`t have this stat on both rings, amulet and gloves. I comfortably reached minion attack speed cap with this in mind. I have changed my ga attack speed rings for critical strike chance ones.
it would be good if the master work had two buttons, one button for a complete reset and the other one needs to be 2x or 3x more expensive just to reset to the last 25% value of the master work

I have a theory that the rolls you get while tempering are linked to what you pick in your skill tree. and what would work with your skill tree is way less likely to roll. that includes world drops
There's like 700 builds that uses 90% the same skills. But yeah it sometimes feels like there's some behind the scenes stuff happening, but that's simply just rng. What we call good lcuk/bad luck is simply statistics working for/against us on a larger scale.
Nice video, but a quick question. Is it better to have 2 Damage buffs on gear OR 2 chances to cast twice? Would higher chances casting more frequently be better? (more damage?)
As a Rogue, I have 'Heartseeker cast twice' on both of my one-handed weapons, and my bow has the 'Heartseeker duration'. Does that work? Because I do have one roll left on my bow for something else potentially and could do a safer roll, perhaps? And advice?

I’ve played Barb for quite a while and only have seen pants that had +3 to Bash like TWICE. Everything else will pop up often like Frenzy or Flay. Pretty annoying.
This GA "scam" is all situational though. Sure shadow damage over time is going to roll higher, but specific damage always does, that's the point. Greater affixes aren't a scam but you should def try to roll whichever number is going to be highest
I've tried getting an amulet with hellbent commander and have gotten 1 drop but it was just one rank and one from the Obols vender that had two ranks. Which was hundreds of amulet drops and 50k+ Obols Hellbent commander is WAY too rare of an affix.
I can completely be wrong about how Diablo calculates things, but... DOT with greater affix, has base 60: 60 x 1.5 = 90 60 x 1.05 = 63 63 - 60 = 3 Shadow DOT: 73 x 1.05 = 76.65 76.65 - 73 = 3.65 if DOT was base 90 in calculations then, 90 x 1.05 = 94.5 94.5 - 90 = 4.5
they just need to rework tempering. the fact that our best rolls all have to compete with 4 other worthless rolls with a high brick chance is a big fail on the devs part
Stygian stones should be usable to add 1 tempering durability. They are rather rare, but not impossible to get. They are also endgame items, so if you aren't there yet otherwise useless (unless you want to sell them). Lastly, its a pretty well weighted choice. Do you want to do tormented bosses, or do you want to try to reroll your temper?
they are rare enough that they certainly should not be used to add 1 tempering. Just like sparks, too rare. Both scenarios are just a slap in the face to players who play 2hrs or less per day. Many of us are sitting on tens of thousands of tempering mats and hundreds of millions of gold.. why? Why have all these mats if they can't be used?
If you are a partner of diablo, if it is a good idea, ask them to add a dps counter on the training room, so we can see how much damage we really do, and see the changes, its too hard to guess the dps rn with all the mechanics
For the Most console players it would be nice if you can check your stats at the dummies. Its impossible to check how high is my attack Speed in a fight. Would be huge, if they would give us the Option to read the highest damage or the highest attackspeed. Should be possible ;) The thing is, on console (ps5) you are in big disadvantages.
And people like you take the challenge out of every game. Everything doesn't need to be easy. I hate this mindset. It's quite literally ruining a lot of games.
@@crazed1984 If you play 1½ hours a day and finally get that 3 GA, it's pretty ridiculous to get it bricked right after. Yeah if you´dont play a lot, you dont need to do pit+140, but they could certainly do a lot of things to make it better without hurting the top players.

I'm telling you that makes the game fun for you and that casual few, and boring for the many who have more invested into the game. That's a fact. Every game that has made things too easy has died too fast. I'm honestly happy with where the games at, and even sad it's getting even easier. It's supposed to take time. I can assure you with school and my schedule that if I can do it, anyone else can too. It's all about mindset and instant gratification. It's like the concept of giving everyone a participation trophy just for trying. It's trash.

It’s only trash cause it’s all weighted. 80% less likely is insane cell phone ish. 25-30 maybe but when you have so many possibilities, a pre random out come would get the job done. Either way your still not likely to brick your gear than get what you want.
Isn't it better to just farm Pit tier 29 for obducite? You should be able to clear one in a few minutes and getting 39 obducite is better than getting 39 ingolith and transmute half to obducite

Somthing needs to happen with master working and tempering , tempering for reall prisons would be perfect for resting tempering, people will fall off the game again if it's not more user friendly, right now it's ass pure and simple😊
Just gotta ask... isn't the crit/vul damage still capped at the inherent stat? Why have 200 or 2000% when it's really only 50% and 20%. Is the rest a waste just like going over the armour cap?

I am in no way by definition a hardcore player, but this creators videos do help if your patient, listen, and actually apply his advice. It is not as hard as some of you guys make it seem. you guys are just lazy and want everything handed to you. I play less than a lot of people but have cleared everything so far this season and are pushing 125 pits already. There are some very effective methods of farming to get you super close, but bis is meant to be that, bis, not easily achieved by the average joe who only plays 15 minutes a day. Get lost with that.
@@nickmowchan3598 well obviously not, but I assumed the crits scaled multiplicative off the max stat not the base state. Trying to break 3k int and triple crittig my weapon did not do it
this is stupid cause you have a higher chance of getting golem mastery on a useless piece of gear cause it has fire res on it, just roll on a piece of egar with better stats and wait longer pay more
I feel weird saying this, but I like Tempering as is, but If you get a reset, it needs to cost too. The heart of loot games is the chase, and making poor a one and done get at end game makes it very easy to just end up with nothing to go for. I don't mind bricking perfect items because I know I've got a goal then. I know that's not everyone's view. I get most fatter not loss the hard work. Please don't think I don't get that. I just also think it's healthy to not make everything easy. Risk is a good gameplay idea.

They need to come up with an alternative method, Like Last Epoch for instance, you choose what affix you want with a forging potential system it would already be better, remove some of the stupid high costs, everything is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to costly, 12m gold for the last 2 levels of your health potion???????????????????????? Yeah WTF are you thinking Blizzard dev's, 14m gold and 140k gem fragments for gems on a barbarian?????????????????????, I get it you really want people to buy gold so you can ban their account in hopes they purchase another, Why make your player base feel they have to go to a 3rd party website to purchase in game currency because of your all's incompetency to make a better balanced game?
They need to make a pool of Greater Affix’s too. So when I goto the occultist and roll and weapons affix that is greater, it should pull one from a pool of other greater affix’s! That way your not chasing Ga gear over and over and over after you fail with your tempers
