Sup Guys! Here's my drum cover of Seven Days by Sting...with Vinnie Colaiuta on the drums :-D
Definitely one of the coolest and most successfull drum arrangements ever by one of the greatest drummers - and heroes - of all time!
I tried to follow Vinnie note-for-note (same for the drum sound), not the easiest thing in the world, so sorry if I missed something ok? ^_^

This was so dead on, @vadrum! I get nervous when watching some people play stuff by Colaiuta or Cobham, etc. I’m nervous for the first couple minutes thinking, “They’re gonna fall out of time or rhythm.” It’s like waiting to see if someone will trip and fall. But then after those first couple of minutes, I’m like, “Heck, yeah! This dude is in the groooooove.” And then I get lost in it, too. Great work, man!!!

I've been a fan of Vinnie since he started with Zappa in 1978, I'm 53 now. Only a madman would think to play in 5 with even time accents on the hi-hat.The man is a legend. I had to buy a third splash when I learned this song back in 95.

Hearing this song played over the years, I could tell the drumming was difficult. But finally seeing it played. . . I had no idea it was this difficult. That was a pleasure to watch! I’ll be watching this again and again.

My DRUM BROTHER! OUTSTANDING! Every lick was hit!!! I learned that sound back the 80’s ALL because of the timing and how BEAUTIFULLY it was performed buy Vinnie!! It inspired me and pushed me at the age of 15! To ALL drummers,.. learn to play ALL STYLES of music and time signatures!!✊🏾✊🏾💯🙏🏽🙏🏽

So you are now my official drum cover go-to guy when I want to hear EXACT replica of recordings. I get people wanting their own flavor of what they would do. But when you are covering Vinnie and other monsters on the kit…I don’t need to hear double bass or ridiculous machine gun fills just to fill time and space. This was simply awesome. Thank you.

AMAZING!!! I love these guys who practice specific tracks to the point of obsession and then let the world see. Especially tracks like these where everyone is visually, dying to see what the original artist played. This was absolutely FLAWLESS. Amazing. This highlights just how amazing Vinnie Colaiuta was/is as a drummer… for him to create such a beautiful drum track, in the studio. Amazing. What a guy. Can you imagine being the engineer on that track and hearing that coming through the control room speakers for the first time 🤯 That song has transcended more than the song in and of itself. It’s literally become mostly about it’s drum track. That’s how big Vinnies contribution was. You did this so much justice 👏🏼

I Love this Song been listening this since 1993 seeing all the drum cover in youtube i can tell this is the greatest cover hitting all the drum notation and the cymbals especially the splash you're the Great Man next to Vinnie keep it up..

Damn, I'd give ANYTHING to play like this!!! There are a lot of songs I'd love to be able to play but you can only do so much without proper techniques. Techniques you can't get teaching yourself. I'm 53 and wished I would have taken band when I was in school. I could have learned to read music and learned all of the foundation to play like this!!!

I’m so in love with the drumming in this song. One video suggested the time signature of the drums is in 7 as apposed to the rest of the tune and vocals that are in 5/4 which means Vinnie is playing over the bar. I’m a crap keyboard player and a so so vocalist. Can anybody who understands music theory tell me whether this is why this song is such genius and unique piece of music?
