I realized this not too long ago. MELIODAS WAS GOING EASY ON THEM. So since Meliodas is supposed to be. The future “Demon King” He was hit with a curse from the current demon king “ Immortality” since his magic was so strong they had to deal most of it. “ In the manga you’ll see his demon king form it’s quite Cool” anyways imagine meliodas in his DEMON KING form destroying them. The fact demon king isn’t even his strongest form is the fact that he was going easy, well forced to go easy. If he actually got serious and he didn’t have them seals he could of destroyed the universe his power go’s beyond gods and demon kings. It’s basically a insult calling him a GOD or a DEMON KING ya know?
