I watched this when it came out, at 14. Now, I'm 21, a makeup artist and Art director for film and I've NEVER seen a better look for Sloth. I loved your work as a child and I'm forever grateful for it.
You have an amazingly unique vision with each one of these. It's a shame none of them are out there being put to use in film. The sloth is my favorite. The idea of putting in the smoke and ragged plants left me thinking of a pot-head fairy. It's spectacular. I don't know if that was your intent, but if put into a scene, I would see finding the sloth character hidden in a cabin somewhere, smoking a hookah a-la the caterpillar from ALICE in wonderland. Very well done. Would love to have a chance to work with someone like yourself. Your art and interpretations are undeniably above par. So talented.
I love the attention to detail that you put both in the makeup application & in this video. The editing and music is well thought of. Your TALENT gives me goosebumps.
This is my favourite look by you..... So pretty- especially considering that this is supposed to be messy and lazy looking... It's pretty, but still represents sloth well. Beautiful, Klaire
It's been almost 10 years and this is still my favorite makeup series. This is one of the only vids on RU-vid I've rewatched over and over. I was about 15 when this came out. Still in highschool. Awkward. I wasn't even allowed to wear makeup at that time yet. It's amazing how much life changes with time. Now I'm 25 and still awkward but you know how it goes. Regardless, thank you sm for creating this video. It's had such a huge impact on me even after all these years. Sorry about the rambly comment. I'm not the best at wording my thoughts
I've seen a lot of Seven Deadly Sins inspired art and and makeup, and I love how different this was to the slightly tired and cliched ones I've seen. So often Sloth is just grey with cobwebs, but I love how you used the lashes, flowers and pink eyeshadow to make the character seem like a faded beauty, someone who was once stunning but stopped taking care of herself. Feminine, but faded and lost. Very original adaptation, well done :)
Whenever you make a video as creative as this one it always gives me the feeling that you totally thought about a story around the elements that you choose to portray, I really love that, cause I'm kinda like that too.
i read somewhere that the sin was actually meant to be negligence, but after watching this I am absolutely speechless! love your talent and how you bring up a concept!
It would be awesome if you wrote a book using this 7 deadly sins inspired looks as characters! They are the best looks I've seen so far! You're awesome Klaire!! 👌👌
finally, it comes the sloth makeup, and just like those uploaded in the past, it never disappointed me and it surpass my expectation, she s a real great artist!!
in this half-deadly look i've found my main flaw..and the shivers've run over my skin.. Thank you! Not only for the amazing beautiful creative works, but also for individual feelings like that...and thoughts that you've raised. You're doing smth important and unique.. Wish you more and more inspiration and happiness in everything!!!!!!
I feel like im the human form of sloth :D seriously its 2pm and im still in bed #dontjudge. Well at least im not one of the dangerous ones like wrath or greed.
how can you be the human form of one of the seven DEADLY sins and then say "at least I'm not one of the dangerous ones," like the whole point is that they're all dangerous
Keana Astalos because honestly i dont think sloth is that dangerous to others as in if a person is lazy i dont see how that person could be really dangerious to others :D and obviously it was a joke, no living human could be exactly like sloth cause then i wouldnt even be writing this comment to you :D
I really appreciate how you have imperfect skin, yet show it to your subscribers and it's okay. Klaire, thank you for reminding us that you don't have to be made of plastic to be beautiful. c:
The pink and grey/black/silver combo is so pretty. I can see parts of this look easily working for every day makeup styles, especially if you're a weirdo like me. ^_^
Zoe Lilly I think you are taking the concept the wrong way. Having freckles in a natural complexion, and not covering them for a look for sloth, makes it seems like you are lazy. Not doing your make up (covering freckles with foundation) can seem as a sloppy/lazy appearance to some people.
exactly... why would it be bad to not cover them up? Freckles are a part of you, not a zit or something. you shouldn't cover them and draw them on when you want to look sloppy
Ana Fitzwilliams pffft you mean, literally me? Idk maybe this is how sloth wakes up? Maybe these colors are just a part of its face? Idk that's what I imagine :3
Sloth is beautiful in a skin deep way,yet you've made sloth...something more than skin deep beauty..You've made it...outer/inner beauty!I give this tutorial 10/10 cookies!
I think this is my favourite look yet. I love every aspect of it. So intricate yet simple at the same time. Stunning. You really suit freckles by the way. (:
Me personally, if I would've done this look I would've had the eye makeup smudged all over and the pink on the upper lid I would've replaced with grey and I would've sunken in the eye sockets.... The pink I would've put on the waterline to make it look more grotesque but that's just me..... Extraordinary work though!
