Close to 30 poles have been identified this summer alone around my home, these failing Lightning Arresters are in place to protect the transformers from line surges, if the LA’s are arcing, they are clearly malfunctioning and can not be trusted to protect the transformers. Not to mention the audible arc which is an ignition source. SoCalEd knows they may have installed a bad batch and all of the LA’s in our area may need to be replaced. Doing my best to make this issue known and push them to do the right thing.
