Holy Week has been a meaningful tradition for Filipinos both Catholic and non-Catholic alike. For some, the long weekend is a perfect time to hit the road and strengthen bonds while for others, it is a chance to reunite with the family in their home provinces. Catholics throughout the country observe Holy Week in a variety of ancient traditional activities. Visita Iglesia is just one.
Seven Churches Visitation is an ancient Roman Catholic tradition. dating back from the 16th century, to visit seven churches on the evening of Holy Thursday, after the Mass of the Last Supper, to pray before the Blessed Sacrament in each church. In the Philippines where the tradition is known as Visita Iglesia, the practice has evolved into visiting no particular number of churches on any day of the Holy Week to pray for the fourteen Stations of the Cross in them. Most Catholics do it on a Holy Thursday when churches stay open until midnight.

Thanks so much for sharing your Visita Iglesia in Rizal.We used to have a pilgrimage tour every year before holy week but when pandemic was experienced, we had to stop.We had visited 7 shrines in Diocese of Tarlac, 7 shrines in Quezon province, including Kamay ni Jesus. We were able to walk the 305 steps. Also, 7 shrines in Rizal. One of the most memorable in Rizal, is the.Church in the Sky🙏

It Feels Good to Pay a Visit. When I first visit this church, there's this feeling of serenity that immediately surrounds me. I really love old churches, it is as if I am travelled back in the old times.

Bumisita kami sa simbahan at namangha ako sa sandaling pumasok kami. Napagpasyahan ko na ito ay dahil sa ambiance ng simbahan mismo, sa kabila ng katotohanan na ito ay inayos nang maraming beses sa nakalipas na maraming taon, ay nagbibigay pa rin ng magandang na pakiramdam.

Ang gaganda po ng mga simbahan kahit luma at may katagalan na. Naalagaan nila ng mabuti at tama sinabi nyo na na-preserved sya ng maayos.

The church looks its age although I think it has been remodeled or restored several times. It's in baroque style and has a beautiful style. Some of the stonework might still be original, or at least very very old. There are also wonderful sculptures of saints mounted on walls, as well as a richly adorned holy figures.

The tradition of visiting seven churches on this night is waiting for the crucifixion. Catholics carry on this tradition of waiting, as Jesus asked his disciples to wait in the garden, and afterwards as the disciples waited for the crucifixion.

correction po, hindi po 415 years old na ang simbahan ng tanay kundi ang 415 taon po ay tumutukoy sa foundation ng bayan ng Tanay.

The stone church of Cainta was first built in 1707 and completed in 1716. In 1727, Our Lady of Light was chosen as its new patroness. The church was burned down during the Filipino-American war. It was left in ruins for more than 60 years until it was rebuilt in 1966 with its original facade. When you enter the churchyard from the main road, you only see the side entrance near the altar. You have to go into the church and go out the front door in order to see its beautiful stone facade.

yung sa st jerome po mali ung info nyo hindi 500yrs old 170yrs old lang sya feb 2, 1853 sya na complete itayo, i dont knw saan mo nakuha ung 500 yrs old. reseach bago mag bigay info. thanks
