Excellent video. Always a joy to watch the crafting aspect. Only just started working with leather ( mostly grade ). Interesting that you had/have an interest in knifes ( and in particular, martial arts ) I used to teach Aiki Jitsu ! Keep up the good work and enjoy the woods mate. Edit: Also do a lot of landscape photography , so hear you on the weight issue ( I use EOS 5d, with L lenses, killer weight in bag ) going to look into your set up with the Sony gear , cheers for that .
Pete Miller cool hope it helps, with the sony camera there were a lot of newer models but not very good with video, this was the best one at the time, i also like the small mirrorless cams but cant justify the cost at the moment, not sure if they are good for battery life or video :)
Hi Gary, I was drawn back to your channel. I agree - a wet woodland is a rich and vibrant space. Invigorating! Tac Blades is unique for sure and your content (although this is old) is fabulous. I like your mellow style of presentation. Good to sit back and listen to. I use the Sony WX350 and recommend for hiking to anyone. The RX100 is good to. Well, digging the waxed canvass. Old skool. The audio is very interesting....Any chance of you sharing the set up with me? I'd appreciate it. I will message you. Well, many thanks - great video. All the best. Mark.
Wye Explorer thanks for the comments. The audio is tricky to get nice, i use a separate audio recorder, the zoom h2n sometimes with a lav mic, then sync the audio back to the video in adobe premiere, its a long process, but the results are nice i think. I try to make vids that last usually things like vlogs are only good for that time, but i try to have stuff that doesnt date to quickly.
I was wondering "How Well your Sound" would come so well in your vid's. A Lot of other videos when they talk and are doing something like cutting wood the sound of their voice will drop a lot, Now I know why. You are #1 of my Favorite video maker's on YT. = )
Hi Gary, I haven't seen any new vids from you lately, and I thought this one (being a Q+A) could you tell me what the tape is called that is used for a " Taped" seam on a tarp, I've googled it and all I get back is double sided sellotape. hope you can help, atb, veitchy64, PS when's the next video due ? Cheers mate
Gary Veitch well there is several, with cuben fibre you can get cuben fiber backed adhesive. On silnylon and pu coated nylon you can use seam sealer. And on goretex jackets you can buy a special tape that is backed with an adhesive for goretex :)
@@TacBlades cheers and keep on vlogging it's great to see you don't have to jump around like you're on crack cocaine... what was the mike you used? The H2N didn't have a lapel mike with it
