This was awesome to listen to! It definitely sounds like a Pete Seeger song, it has that great mix of folk roots and "take it to the man" lyrics. I really enjoyed this song, thank you so much for sharing it with us. :)
A neo traditional folk tune with the energy of the 1960s and music styles of roots and old timey sounds a poem truly protest folk ballads for 2024 Pete and the weavers along with Woody and Cisco would be proud
Amazing! it would be cool if you did a cover of the Wolfe Tones James Connolly song. It was one of the old Irish rebel songs my father would often sing to me as a child.
I am a nanny now to two and when I had the opportunity to take care of the newborn at her 5th week old, this was (and still is 8 weeks later) the absolutely only thing to soothe her when she woke up hungry and mom wasn’t home to nurse yet. I play this for her when she’s inconsolable waiting on her bottle to warm up and thaw… your songs soothe both of my littles (and have since the toddler was a baby) like clockwork. You should take that as high praise as well
It is rare for good performers to also make good poetry/ compositions. And most that do begin to lower their quality after too much success. You always have room to grow, of course. And your politics could improve some :) But your ear for quality still rings true. Don't quit. God bless,
I’ve been listening to this a lot lately because I’ve been really low and sad (mostly just because of personal circumstances) and this gives me hope… I hit play and better is in reach just on the other side of my keyboard…
Another good song please keep writing them. I like a majority of the songs you write even those about stuff where we are on different sides of the argument. You are one of the artist I look forward to seeing your new work.
I wondered if that was your father! Thanks for crediting him. Lovely sound! You find some beautiful places to film. I think some are in Nova Scotia, but where was this one filmed?
If I may make a suggestion sir, could you do a cover of the song "Kelly's Irish Brigade"? It's a song about Irish immigrants who fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War.
