lajon is up there putting on the most brutal vocal performance i've ever seen him do, and then he starts screaming about a rainbow!! something from disney movies, this is why metal is the best genre of music.
@@gunslinger-vp9eo I doubt you were there bud 🤣 how you gonna say it sucked when you weren't there? Everything is different when your there getting fucked up nd lit with titties bouncing everywhere. I wasn't there but if I was I'd be coked out xanned out nd drunk affff
Our sons middle name is "Black", because when I was pregnant, anytime Sevendust's Black played my son would feel like he was dancing in womb. EVERYTIME!! So I figured he really liked it, so, middle name is Black.
They really are. There was a radio fest called Rockstock in Chicago. A radio station put it on. Anyways they were signing autographs before their set. I had a Sevendust shirt on. Lajon kept thanking me for supporting them. It meant the world to me as a teenager! I was talking about it for weeks. Even 20 years later I remember it. These guys deserve every ounce of success they got!
Saw them years ago opening for Ozzy Osborne in Australia. Stadium was almost empty for sevendust, the people there just didn't go in for them. Loved them, after the show everyone was waiting for Ozzy's car to drive out and sevendust came strolling out to say hi despite the crowd not caring. Was great haha
@@craiglopresto3322 I was watching it live on 📺 at 15yo in Louisiana. My mom never censored my music but she thought the devil was in me... my living room was my own personal stage lol
I was at this show at Woodstock '99. What's hard to grasp for the average watcher here on youtube, this set (whole concert performance of Sevendust) they played through some of the worst scary weather I have ever watched at a live concert. It was a former air force so it is wide open. There were lightening and thunderstorms and almost tornado force winds in certain times of their show! They did not stop once and I CAN tell ya because I was there, the look on some of the people in the crowd when the storm starting coming in was the "Oh shit" look on some people's fences! Just to give you a reference how bad some of the winds were during that storm, we saw people's tents go flying and rolling in the air in the distance! That is what made this show to memorable. People stayed and Sevendust played their asses off! And then a huge rainbow hung in the sky later on in their set. It was fucking awesome!
?? I was there and the storm wasn't even bad, and didn't last long - seemed like it started like it was going to be something then fizzled. I didn't even really pay any attention to it, and was reading your comment like 'what storm is he talking about?' It was a bad ass 3 days though, and the firestorm of trash later that night was surreal, with Megadeth playing the whole time on second stage.
@@FarFromEquilibrium dude, there was some massive shit brewing. Those winds were picking up and whipping, it was a pure storm. It didnt rain much, but everyone around me said feels like a tornado is coming? You don't remember that? You can even see it in the concert footage. And then it all got calm and there was a huge ass rainbow in the sky. The singer even comments on the rainbow.
@@nammtube9332 Yeah, I remember the skies looking like they were going to storm, and lots of people speculating but it never really did much but blow a little. It's lucky too bc that time of year it's common for central NY to have real storms, derechos etc.
Not true at all. You're obviously looking in the wrong places. Check out the band Prison. This type of music didnt die.. peoples desire to seek out new music and stop reliving nostalgia is the only thing in the way of progress.
Hit that rewind button. I want to go back to ws99. No corona virus, no smart phone, plastic bottle throwing, mud pits, fires, 10$ a slice of pizza and 20$ waters but shit f it 23yrs old no care in the world but good times. Ws99 kicked f'n ass. Peace! Peace! Peeeeeeeeeeeace!! And that f in rainbow
I was blessed enough to work the Front of House console for almost the whole time. Most had their own engineers but smaller acts like I think Guster and a few others I got to play. It suck how it ended because it was EPIC! To be there and to survive. Congratulations to everyone who was there and survived Cheers 🍻
Whoever says this performance was shit needs to get their ears checked, and learn what real metal is all about. They're one of the greats as far as nu metal and post grunge.
ok so maybe lip singing is as a bad choice of words. So he forgot to sing while his back up vocals were playing. thats all. i mean ashley simpson did the same thing. i love thier first two albums, but i got tired of them when they constantly kept perpetuating the death of lynn strait. there were 3 different singles to that song on different albums. then that cheap ass dex farara dis because the drummer was banging rayna. he obviously had personal problems, then recently they go on tour with coal chamber, suporting slot of course. that song praise was terrible. oh and yes of course this didnt help their case. i get it , it was woodstock alot of pressure. but backup chorus vocals have no spot in metal especially live. thats what the rest of the band is for. its not super criminal just weak like what they have become. they just loss the edge that made them great.
There are 3 people that do vocals in the band. Morgan does a bunch of vocals. You're just hearing that and ranting about it like an uneducated person. Stop that.
Man, you sound really insecure and pretty stupid quite frankly. You want to talk about it? Where did daddy touch you? I assume that's where your rage is coming from.
I was 18 or 19 when this event kicked off. Seven dust will always be one of my favorite bands. Love those guys. Waffle is probably my all-time favorite from them
It’s called not giving a fuck what others thought and doing what fullfill yourself. Now indays everyone wears the same over price name brand corporate horse shit. Today’s world is artificial, back then everything had HEART
@@defstrikem2743 it was a matter of what we had. You bastards now go out and spend hundreds of dollars on douchy hipster shit to look like you don't care. Spend all that money on fadoras and skinny jeans sleeping on your 22yo friends moms couch but the mustache cream got you lookin sharp lol
Yeah bro definitly. I was there in person. Drove 7 days from seattle to new york. Was a kickass deal. Dropped acid on saturday. Saw ICP, took nitrous hits, watched my tent burn down in the riots on sunday. Saw willy nelson. Memories 4 life. Rock on. 🤟🤟🤟
LJ got with one of the hottest chicks in my school and partied in my town. Btw.. He's much smaller in person. No hate to him. Loved the band and how it symbolized how it captured my era and how anyone could say what they wanted without the keyboard warriors sounding off with things like "racist" or other shit. This was an era where it was cool to just be you... The following generations don't understand what it was like to grow up like this. Now, creativity is stifled along with freedom of speech.
I feel so bad for Sevendust. I love em and nobody ever realizes what they are. A little ahead of their time. Like 7 years early. Kings of [[Post-Nu metal]] in my opinion if that's a thing 🤣🤣
Ah, gotta love comments sections. From my vantage, anyone who is critiquing this performance is outing that they have proooobably not spent a lot of time as a live performer, at least not in many varied venues or contexts, anyone who has performed or mixed live FOH or live broadcast in a show with a ton of complex transitions enough knows exactly what went down here and sees the way Lajon masterfully handled it, and I just really enjoy Sevendust so dang much that is all have a lovely day
Hate that the town of Vernon turned down the opportunity to have another Woodstock....Times have changed and I genuinely don't think it would end like it did in '99 in Rome....We need something like this in the area :/
I can't imagine to be like you the pain and suffering you put me through I can't imagine to be like you the pain and suffering you put me through I can't imagine to be like you All the pain and suffering I go through You surrounded yourself with evil Every nightmare you have is your equal You live in your own hell. (outta my way) You're surrounded by evil (don't hesitate) you can't get away (outta my way, outta my way) Dark clouds will follow you rainy days will always find you you can't ever get away Evil will come Another day You live in your own hell. (outta my way) You're surrounded by evil (don't hesitate) you can't get away (outta my way, outta my way) I can't imagine to be like you the pain and suffering you put me through (repeat) I can't imagine to be like you All the pain and suffering I go through You surrounded yourself with evil I hope it catched you up I can't imagine to be like you the pain and the suffering you put me through I can't imagine to be like you the pain and the suffering you put me through I can't imagine to be like you the pain and the suffering you put me through
I've never listened to this group before so I clicked on it and was surprised I've never listened to them before definitely need to look up more of their songs the lead singer has awesome singing ability and I totally love the control he has with his vocals to go from calmly singing to screaming the back to calmly singing and he has a good voice me being a singer knows what it takes to have that kind of control it takes a lot of practice a lot of patience to get the sound you want the notes you want a it tanks breathing skills and a lot of practice.
Wow... Feel like they got jipped.... Lajon got a raw deal. Band mates included. His vocals are amazing for this genre. But sadly millennials won't accept a black man for metal. He knew that going on stage. Could see and feel it. I hope you keep screamin!!! I loved ur music!!!!
Aerogorn it’s joke but to be honest to compare so called “talents” Lyon is in a different league than “Wayne” of course Lyon would never say anything bad about another “artist” because he’s to nice of a guy.
