I'm shocked by JEONGHAN's part when he raps. a totally different voice when he's rapping. I didn't recognize the voice. the hair with the pins. gorgeous outfit. 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
this comeback has been CRAZYYY, they broke records left and right, the whole album is amazing and svt filmed so many variety contents for us as well. being a carat is one of the best choices i've made so far
Seventeen got the fastest-selling album in this century surpassing adele's record , they opened record of selling 3.99 million in one day and 4 million in 2nd day. they also most streamed on melon in 2023 also in 24 hours, most streamed album in 2023 on melon with 9 million+ streams in 24 hrs. charting crazy in every chart
Sonogong were taken from the original Chinese story, Sun Wukong, which is also known as Son Goku for the anime Dragon Ball. They are so many Dragon Ball's reference in the lyrics. 1:56 This choreo here, the highlight dance of the choreo, is a move of Goku whenever he did transmission. 2:25 DINO's choreo there, it's the famous move of Goku, if you know the famous 'KAME KAME HA'. 2:50 Scoups part - pull up my 근두운 (geunduun), geunduun is a cloud that Goku, the character will always ride in the story. Means that SEVENTEEN is riding the cloud, flying above the sky because they are so successfull right now. (Okay just an info that FML, their album are now is the highest selling album with 4M copies sold. And they sold 3M+ copies just in one day.) 3:11 Joshua's part - Rise way up to the sky, power pole (yeouibong, 여의봉) power pole or yeouibong is like Goku's weapon, like a stick. And the choreo Joshua did showed that the pole extends. 5:00 And it's obvious at Woozi's part, This is the cartoon's ending song. Sorry I'm so bad in explaining.
You guys are seriously my favorite seventeen reactors. I’m not sure how to explain it, but watching you guys slowly slip into the diamond life has been such a fun experience. And you appreciate all of the members too 😭😭😭
If ever you guys are familiar with the anime/manga DragonBall Z, the song is inspired from it specifically the main character Son Goku (Son Ogong in korean) tho some of the references can also apply to the original Son Wukong from the famous Chinese literature Journey to the West which is also the inspiration for the anime/manga. Some references (or at least I think) that I noticed: - Korean title is SonOgong -> korean name of goku - english title is SUPER -> derived from super saivan - instant transmission pose (two fingers on forehead) and kamehameha (cupped hands together) in the choreo • "hop on our cloud" -> goku's nimbus cloud -"let's move on to the next world" > DBZ is known to have many planets in the story - "hero's true colors like this" -> super saiyan has many colors with varying power level - "being free of all time and space" -> hyperbolic time chamber/room of spirit and time "power pole"-> goku's staff/pole - "energy, gather your strength and out comes power, one massive shot" -> kamehameha - "this is the cartoon's credits song" -> DBZ itself - last but not the least, woozi is a known weeb (copy pasted from a comment)
SEVENTEEN can always surprise us each time for the comeback. they really impressive. their outfits are really beautiful. the cheography is truly amazing and impressive. this is really the best SEVENTEEN group in kpop. they have kings 💯💯💯👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥
Sonogong is a Korean way to pronounce and write the name of Chinese folklore character Su Wukong (someone correct me pls if I'm misspelling) who's also famous as the Monkey King. in this album SVT try to rethink their past lives and the way they live now and a lot of Carats believe that 'Super' is connected with the another title track 'F*ck My Life'. it's like the continuation - meanwhile in 'FML' they're talking about the misfortunes and struggling, in 'Super' they in the most proud way ever say that they've succeed. this is a very traditional concept which is also followed by music played on the Korean traditional instruments and clothing - the members wear the upgraded versions of Korean traditional costumes called hanboks and Jeonghan even has binyo - Korean traditional hairpin that men and women used to bun the long hair with. it also crossed my mind that their outfits are very similar to the ones that were worn by mercenaries who attempted to kill the royal family but it's not confirmed. it's really suitable and funny for that concept tho😄 Seventeen killed this shit honestly. they broke so many records with this album and showed us a big-big self-growth. the songs in the album are very nice too and the most of them have very sweet meanings behind them. one of them is 'I Don't Understand But I Luv U' and i guess it's my most favourite b-side in 'FML'. this song is very special in many ways and one of them is that it's dedicated to us - international Carats. in one live some Carat wrote "I don't understand but i still luv u" and the members were so touched that they even made a song about it 🥺 all in all, this comeback is top tier. SVT promised us a hard af choreo and some unexpected plot twists and they kept their promise💎✨
It's Sun* Wukong Also you're right about everything! I also just want to add that's the character Son Goku (from Dragon Ball) is based off of the legend of the Monkey King Sun Wukong. That song lyrics and choreography have heavy references to Dragon Ball and Goku's powers
Despite after 8 years debuting, they're still attracting people to this day and so on. Its honestly amazing that there's so much more new carats (including me), and carats who never once regretted staning them. FML gotta be one of their best comebacks ever! From stealing the number 1 spot of most pre-ordered album, to the fact they fulfilled their goals around the platforms. (One of them was RU-vid, which was 13M views with 800k likes, and we now surpassed the goal with 18M views, almost 1M likes 😚) Everybody involved in the planning did so good as well; going seventeen releases, hair color revealed, album promotions, pre-order, and the album release. It was all smoothly done! Props to everyone including members, staffs and carats!! ❤💎
Seventeen kept giving us surprise for every comeback, they're truly the king of performance! this song is very suitable for the opening or ending of grand festivals, i'm so proud stanning them

Maybe im lying but son o gong(손오공) stand for sangoku (dragonball z) because i heard in a korean interview some korean say that scoups look like son o gong and they edited scoups with sangoku (drangonball z) symbolyzing sort of strength so😅 I said maybe i'm lying

i’ve been waiting!!! thank u so much❤❤❤ this is only the 1st title track, they still have another title one called “Fxck my life” coming soon btw Woozi is going to be on the next Suchwita episode, i can’t believe this is happening. The 2 best producers in Kpop, together? And they literally give off the same vibes and even look similar 🥹🥹🥹

Son Wukong in Korean, Son Goku in Japanese (from Dragon Ball), Sun Wukong in Chinese -- is a character in an old Chinese novel and also a character in a Japanese anime (Dragon Ball). The short story is that this character gains a lot of power and upgrades it every time he fights in a battle. It's a very famous anime character in Asia.
SONOGONG/Sun Wukong is basically the myth in which Dragon Ball is based off of. The lyrics and visuals play into the tale of both Sun Wukong from the myth and the anime hence the last line, and references to the flying cloud (idk the korean name but in the anime its Flying Nimbus is what SWK rides on) and the staff/pole which Sun Wukong could control at will. Someone did explain that whoever is center at certain parts is the true Sun Wukong, while the dancers in black is like clones or entities who is at SWK mercy, in a way, being controlled or work in synchronicity. Honestly at first, K-carats are laughing at how different the korean title and the english title for the song, but it's not the first svt did that either. But I do think Super came from Super Saiyan lmao cause some references does touch more on what he could do or did do in the anime/cartoon rather than the legend it's based off on.
Son Ogong is a god (Song Wukong in Chinese) and I'm really no expert but I think he was in the old Chinese story "Journey to the West". And the kdrama 'A Korean Odyssey' (화유기 - "Hwayugi) is somewhat based on that with the god Son Ogong as the male lead character (played by Lee Seungi from Vagabond, Mouse, The King: 2 Hearts, etc.) So basically with the lyric "Feel like I became Son Ogong" they mean they feel they became like him, a god. (I'm also not 100% sure on this but I _think_ he's a monkey god or god of mischief? Something along those lines)
SONOGONG or SONG WUKONG which is the monkey God in a Chinese Myth novel: Journey to the west but if you are an ANIME FAN you’ll much definitely know The Infamous SON GUKO. That’s the song is all about.
Sonogong is the korean title of the song, while Super is the english title. Sonogong = the korean name for the chinese legend 'Sun Wukong', aka the monkey king. If you're familiar with Dragon Ball, Son Goku is based off of Sun Wukong as well. Dragon Ball Super is the current iteration of Dragon Ball, or super could also reference Goku's transformation "Super Saiyan" That's why they talk about "flying cloud", "power pole" (goku's special "items"). The choreography references Goku's powers: Dino does the kamehameha and the 2 fingers to the forehead move in the chorus = Goku's instant transmission (teleporting). That's also why the final lyrics of the song is "this is the cartoon's credits song", meaning it's the anime ending song.
