they're actually called the "self producing idols" because they write, compose, and choreograph. The shorter guy one that has blonde hair is the producer of the group and makes 99% of their songs, he also plays A LOT of instruments, so I'm so proud seeing how you like the songs in the killing voice cause he is the one who produced them
Seventeen is known as Self Producing Idols, almost all of their songs are produced by their co-member Woozi, swear! He is a genius. Theyre 13 members but they are divided into 3 units- Vocals, Hiphop and Performance ☺️ Theyre one of the funniest group and for their dancing- 13 members but the synchronization are Chef's kiss!
No sugar coats?!? Well, well! This will be fun to watch! I'm a 'carat' (seventeen fandom name) but never an abrasive one. I can't wait to hear your opinion on seventeen songs you don't like as well! Again. Thanks for your gifted ear.
Not to mention that their company Pledis didn’t do much so in the beginning Mingyu did the merch and stickers. Seungkwan called variety shows to get them on. Hoshi he creates their dancing.
@@Bobaxbulbasaurwoozi also used wonwoo’s mac to create their debut song, and all of them used their own money so they can have in ear earphones back then. they really went through a lot and now i’m very glad they’re enjoying their life in stability and are super successful!
That's so great that you reacted to Seventeen, they're fun, it's really upbeat, perfect for bad days! It's the kind of music that puts a smile on your face. Woozi (the shortest one) writes a lot of their song, he is a great producer. And yes Joshua is Korean American, he was born in L.A.
Joshua and Vernon (the guy in black white jacket) are Korean-American. Joshua's mother and father are Korean but Joshua born and raised in L.A (his parents live in L.A until now). Vernon born in New York but moved to Korean when he was 5 years old, his Father an Korean and his mom an American (From Miami). He speak in English at home because his mother can't speak in Korean.
Thank you for reacting to Seventeen and appreciating their music. None of the members are related to each other by blood but they've been together as a group for quite a few years (8 years) and trained together before debut a few years as well (2 to 6 years varying per member). I'm very biased but they're my home, my comfort music, my hype people and my strength. Each member might not seem to be highlighted but they come up with unit songs (just as brilliant with a different flavor) to make others members' strengths shine and a few of them have released duets, solos and collaborations with other artists. I hope you listen to more of their music because what you just heard is just a snippet of their genius and talents. What makes them truly unique other than having that many members and the synchronized dancing machines that they are is the variety of opinions and musical preferences each member has that gets filtered into their music. Each member has to agree that the music they plan to release as a group represents the group before/after (not sure) it goes to the company for approval. That's why they have confidence in their music when it is released. Woozi (one of Seventeen members) is one of the producers of their music with Bumzu (not a member but writes, arranges and composes a lot of their music with Woozi) both and all members have crazy high standards. They don't tend to follow trends and their message is typically for the fans but the messages they convey tend to be relevant and very Seventeen. They've become more popular in Korea because of their variety content Going Seventeen, a weekly show that mostly shows how entertaining their dynamics are as a goup in different settings, sometimes it caters to Korean humor (they do parodies of current or previous Korean variety shows and/or personalities), sometimes it shows how witty, competitive and hilarious they generally are (having that many members with the varying personalities is a recipe for very entertaining chaos).
Thank YOU... yes killing voice is a great show. Lots of episodes with many different singers..... you should check out the one with IU, Taeyeon ... or with Hyolyn
If you ever take a look at fanmade videos that show their line distribution, every member always has a part in their group songs; it's a very colorful pie chart haha! They're very good about balancing it.
The guy who wears the white shirt in the middle is the producer of Seventeen. Some members write lyrics in some parts of the songs and also do choreograph themselves .They're famous as Self-produced idols. If my information was wrong, I'm so sorry, and I'm just into this guys recently 😅
i suggest you try to dive in to seventeen and find the answers to your questions, they will surprise you! they are very interesting group and you wont find them boring, hope you try to give them a listen! thank you for checking them outt
Love listening to your analysis of their songs as well as your compliments of them! Thank you! 😊🙏 esp proud of Seventeen's member and producer Woozi as he's produced all these songs 🥰 he's indeed a genius ❤️
I hope you can act more for Seventeen. You have to see the music videos for their songs and their dance practices, none of them will disappoint, all of them will amaze and amaze you. and if you look deeper into their personalities if you watch their daily lives behind the performance, you will see that they are very cute and united. That's what made me fall even deeper in love with their work and identity
As an EXO-LxCarat, I'm really happy you like both SEVENTEEN and EXO's killing voice. When you points out some facts like does any one of them play instruments, do they write their own songs or Joshua might grow up in US, I was nodding like crazy lol. Please check their songs. All songs are really great and give a different vibe from other groups. Yes, Woozi ( the one with blonde hair and the shortest) is a great producer, song writer, singer, dancer, idol.
I really liked your reaction, sir. I am glad you loved them. From what I have analysed, your taste will be embraced if you deep dive into SEVENTEEN. Welcome to the carat community ❤
Thank you for acknowledging their talent and appreciating their music. Being the amazing self-producing idols that they are, they do produce most of their songs. Remember the two blonde guys you thought were brothers? Well, they might not be related by blood, but they are brothers from the same vocal team- and the shorter one is the exceptionally talented Woozi, who produces most of their songs! I was kind of hoping that you would try to guess who their main vocals were. If you ever end up reading this post, I would be delighted to read your thoughts. And wait till you see them performing on stage! They are known for their mind-blowing synchronised dance moves! Thank you once again for liking Seventeen! Please keep listening to their music and please keep supporting them! 😊
Stray kids "Sorry I love You" and "Secret Secret", would be awesome to have you react to these 🥰 it's on their softer side ❤ Great song by seventeen btw 🥰
It would be lovely if you would react to Seventeen's long guide wherein you can know them more. Seventeen is one of the most talented Kpop groups because they write, compose and produce most of their songs but they also take part of the choreography making. ps: woozi plays piano, clarinet, guitar and drums, jun plays piano, joshua and dk plays guitar and mingyu plays electric guitar here's the playlist for the Seventeen's long guide ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZQY3IX5fiwE.html
Seventeen is known to have some of the best and fairesg line distribution in Kpop. It helps that Woozi, one of the members and the main composer and producer behind all of their music, knows each member's strengths very well and tailors the songs to make their voices shine. The members have also worked very hard to improve their singing and range so that Woozi can use their voices anywhere he wishes.
Thanks for reacting! Seventeen's songs are almost entirely written and produced by Woozi (the blond one in the middle wearing a white shirt), who was the youngest member of the korea music copyright association and is credited as the lead composer in 150+ songs now. Their other members, especially the Hiphop unit (S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon) also partake in writing and composing. For line distribution, every member gets at least one or two and the rest are divided to suit the song. (I won't necessarily say they always have the fairest, but definitely a distribution that works the best for each song). I think most members know their way around a keyboard while Woozi, Joshua (and maybe DK?) also play guitar. Woozi also plays the clarinet!
There is literally no weakness in this group. It's big enough that Woozi can compose to each member's strengths and everyone can dance. They're really amazing. I'm happy you're discovering them.
Joshua who introduced the English song Darling grew up in LA. Also Vernon who said “stream darling, darling” is half American and half Korean but didn’t grow up in the US. He was in the US until he was 5 and then moved to Korea but his English is so good because he’s half American and his mom speaks English to him.
Seventeen are self-producers , synchronization kings choreographers, the funniest K-pop group with most fair line distributions. Check the dance practices, all are wow!!!
Yes. They play various instruments and they are well known to be self producing group since they write their own songs since predebut. The blonde guy wearing while shirt is the one who mainly writes, composes and produces their own stuff but they all participate in tracks of their albums.
you might be surprised but despite having 13 members, they're one, if not most, the few groups that has equal line distributions. given that they're gonna get 16 seconds or lower in each song. however, they have their own units (hiphop, performance and vocal) which also produce their own songs. they can show their own colors here without having to worry about "having few lines." yes, they are active in writing their own songs. they're known for being the best self-produced group, meaning they're very hands on and very critical of their releases. they choreograph their own dances as well with the help of their teachers and choreographers. they can play instruments like piano, guitar, electric guitar, bass, acoustic, clarinet and more, especially jun, mingyu, joshua, vernon and of course, woozi. 18:16 is an american. he's joshua from california. the one you said you had great rapping voice is vernon was born in new york but he grew up in korea. their foreign line consists of two american and two chinese. i'm surprised you know about the never ending aju nice. yeah, they always come back for that song. it's fun. thank you so much for reacting to svt and for your honest reactions! looking forward to see more of svt on your channel!
SEVENTEEN is actually releasing their 11th Mini album next week on the 23rd of Oct called "SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN". I hope you check it out! Woozi, the short blonde guy, is the one who makes their music. They are a very fun group for sure and their music is great!
i'm so glad you finally got to seventeen! i was one of the ones recommending them since you watched iu's palette with v haha! you'd be surprised to hear that most of their songs have all 13 members on them and that all members are excellent singers (including the rappers). i think they're good at distributing lines because they do write their own songs! so they know what parts fit which members and know how to work with everyone. all of them are involved in lyrics but pretty much every song is composed and produced by woozi, the member with the blond hair in the middle (white dress shirt, hands in pockets a lot LOL). they do play instruments, woozi does play several instruments (guitar, piano, drums, clarinet) and there are other members who also play piano and guitar very well. they're absolutely amazing and you haven't even seen them dance or their personalities yet!
The small blonde is Woozi, he writes and produces most of Seventeens material, and while he is not the only member who plays a musical instrument, he plays: clarinet, piano, recorder, flute, guitar and drums. Joshua plays guitar and Jun is a classically trained pianist [he is really good]. Some Other members do play, but I forget which ones.
Seventeen is one of my favorite group's they are a self producing group both with music and choreography. They debut in may of 2015. Sorry English not my first language. The last song they did aju nice is how they end all their concerts. Sometimes last a hour for encore
I just watched your reaction to EXO and, in that video, when you said that it was 7 members because there were 7 microphones I just thought about Seventeen's Killing Voice. Thanks for reacting to Seventeen, they are amazing, I'm glad that you like them. You cannot have a bad time with Seventeen
I have been watching several reaction videos of the Seventeen's Killing Voice. Most of them focus on each member or a particular member that they like the most. Some other focus on the voice colour and singing skills. I like them all, however, I like yours the most since you discussed mostly about the music, build up, instruments, and the melody. That gives me different perspective about this boy group that I've just recently found too. I am one of Seventeen's new fan. I was too, very surprised the first time I listened to their songs. I found each songs to be unique, different from one to another, but there's some sense of familiarity be it from their other songs or the songs that I used to listen growing up, which makes their music more enjoyable. I agree with most of the comments here, Seventeen wins with their music, melody and performances. Yet, for me the best that they do is the lyrics. The lyrics of their songs tend to be very relatable, youthful, yet metaphorical and poetic, especially the more ballady ones. Thank you for doing this reaction video. I enjoyed it a lot ❤❤
Thank you very much. Being a musician myself and having played the guitar and singing to it for 40 years now I tend to look at the music and what happens in a song and if there are guitars for instance. Vocal wise I like to hear male voices in a mid range because that is where I sing myself the most and that is where I can relate and feel the singer the best.
Woozi (the writer/producer of all their songs) recently said that the company picks who sings which lines, so he doesn't have to deal with that pressure. And yes, every member sings on their songs. It's in the sub-units (Hip-Hop, Performance and Vocal) that the members get more lines and a time to shine. As to whether any members play instruments, YES. And Woozi shines the most...drums, guitar, bass, keyboards/piano, and he's classically trained on the clarinet. Jun (one of the two Chinese line) is a concert pianist. Joshua (one of the two American/Korean line) plays guitar. They all can play at least something...even if they're not that great at it. Besides, I consider my voice an instrument; and they all rock that!!!
hello!!!! this is my first video of yours i'm seeing because seventeen content so apologies for coming right out the gate with a huuuuuge comment: as everyone has already said, seventeen are known as THE self-producing idols, as all members have writing credits and most also have composing credits on their own songs. they have been making their own music since before they debuted. the short blond is woozi and he is their main producer who writes and composes 99% of their music, and in 2021 was the youngest ever to win asia artist awards' "best producer" award! he has also produced songs for other groups and is widely regarded as a genius many members can play an instrument to some degree: woozi guitar, drums, clarinet, piano, and recorder. jun piano. joshua guitar and ukulele. (all mentioned previous are high level/play masterfully). seungkwan piano. dk, mingyu, and wonwoo guitar. jeonghan bass and casually learning piano. s.coups casually learning piano. miscellaneous stuff i love to tell people discovering svt for the first time: seventeen's 2023 mini album "FML" is the best-selling korean album in history with over 6M global sales! in 2023 alone so far they have sold 11M albums worldwide, and their upcoming album releasing oct 23 is set to push them over 15M units sold in a single year! they are recipients of multiple prestigious awards including "best male group", "best dance performance male group", and "artist of the year", to name just a few thank you for reacting to seventeen!! i'm really glad you enjoyed the music you've heard from them so far and i'm hoping for more reactions in the future hehe ❤️
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. thanks for all the information. I really liked what I heard here and will definitely take a look at some more songs.
As others have said, you *have* to watch some performances. Their dancing is top notch - the dance unit leader does a lot of the choreo. Also thank you for pointing out how good Joshua is (the head voice guy). DK and Seunkwan - probably spelled it wrong - are the 2 main vocals and have amazing voices but the other 3 members of the vocal team are also top notch and would be main vocals in other KPop groups.
Thank you for reacting to Seventeen, I really love their songs and performances. Just the fact that they are not afraid to try out anything is one of the reasons they are my utt group🤩
Woozi (blonde hair in the White button-up shirt with rolled-up sleeves and black pants) composes, produces, directs, and writes the lyrics to ALL of their songs. He also plays the piano, guitar, drums, and clarinet.
Svt is divided into 3 units vocal hip hop and performance they give each member lines in every song They are known for their dance they call them kings of synchronization they are so funny talented you will love their music ❤
i think the reason you were so surprised about SVT being so good was because you felt how come i discovered them this late when they are this good dont worry... same thing happened when i got to know SVT like 6 months back
I usually only listen to female groups because I like female voices better. This is new, they are good and interesting. i will watch a few more videos and see how I like them then....
They are also called self producing idols they write and produce their songs , some of them can play instruments especially woozi he plays many instruments
Thank you for reacting!!, a lot of people have already mentioned this, but I'll put it here for anyone who needs it. SEVENTEEN it's a self-produced group, meaning they take part in composing, writing, choreography, etc. 13 (members) + 3 (units: hip hop, performance, vocal) + 1 (team) = 17 The three lead vocalists of the group are Seungkwan (21:24), Dk (22:54) and Woozi (14:11) he is SVT's main producer and leader of the Vocal Unit. [Jeonghan (3:04) and Joshua (18:00) -- yes, he is from the US -- are also part of this unit] They were separated into units since a little before debut, but the truth is everyone in the group can sing, dance and rap; as you can see, Vernon (13:51) he is also a main rapper - he's from NY, half american but grew up in Korea- and part of the Hip Hop Unit, but can sing beautifully. Mingyu (10:17) and Wonwoo(21:30) are part too. S. Coups (16:50) is the main leader of SEVENTEEN and leader of this unit. Lastly, the performance unit's leader Hoshi (14:01), the last two foreign members from China, Jun (14:31) and The8 (19:06) and the youngest of the group, Dino (9:23). According to Woozi, their company is in charge of the line distribution and yeah, they all have their own part in every song; in fact SEVENTEEN has one of the fairest distributions in kpop, especially being 13 members. I hope you'd come to love them because not only are they amazing performers and creators (known in this industry with titles such as the Kings of Synchronization, Theater Kids of KPop and obviously Self-Prouced Idols), but they're funny afff. I f you haven't already, please react to songs along with their 'dance practice' because it hits totally different when you see them dance (my current favorite dance practices of them are DON QUIXOTE, Getting Closer, _World, Rock With You, Ready to Love, i don't wanna cry, home - but honestly all their choreos are INSANE -). Each unit has songs on their own, so you could check that out (their most recent releases are: Vocal - Cheers to Youth, Hip Hop - Lalali and Performance - Spell). They're such a big group, they can create MANY different combinations ex. Light a Flame by the '96 liners (Woozi, Wonwoo, Hoshi and Jun), 2 minus 1 by Joshua and Vernon, Cheers by the leaders (S. Coups, Hoshi and Woozi); and a lot more. Again thank you for your reaction and I hope you have fun slipping into the diamond life haha -- this is a reference to the first song of theirs they performed before debut: Shinning Diamond --
13 members in Seventeen. Not quite 5000.😉 You seem like you know about music. What a delight to watch someone new react to Seventeen for the first time. At 12:05 you picked out Joshua (1 of 2 from USA) (There are also 2 members from China.) The rest are Korean. There are no siblings. Seventeen debuted in 2015 and most were together in training 3-4 years before that. So they know each other well and are very committed to each other, good music----- which they mostly create themselves, amazing dance (you've no idea--yet), and their fans, Carats. 💎 Please react to more Seventeen. I suggest: Home;Run World Dream Rock w/you Left & Right Thanks Pretty U Super for a small sampling. The corresponding dance practices are fun too. Then if you want to dive deeper there's a super long guide and much more great music and dance. Thank you for your reaction.
Thank you, I'll take a closer look for sure. And yes I have been playing the guitar and singing since I was 11 ... That was 41 years ago. I've got my share of playing live either in bands or solo... so yea, I've got a bit of an insight in instruments and singing.
When they start 'Run to you' I was so sure you're going to love it and I'm not wrong. Thank you so much for reacting to Seventeen. They may have many members but they fit so well together. If you look at the lyrics of 'Run to you' and you watch the anime 'Your name' the song fits the anime so much. Especially the bridge part of the song.
Hello! Seventeen is a wonderful group in absolutely everything they set out to do! Following the Killing Voice line, I highly recommend the BtoB group. Insane vocals. Hugs from Brazil!
Thank you ... I did BTOB already .... not 100% my style but I will look into more of their music.... I liked Seventeen much better. I also did exo and nct 127
Platinum blond shorty with the high voice (stage name woozi) composes & produces most of their music. Many of the members contribute with lyrics or some production. This group is famous for putting out THE best energetic/performance songs, as acknowledged by many big names in the industry
I think you will like SEVENTEEN’s song a lot. Not only their title songs, but also non-title songs are great. I notice that you mentioned guitar and Woozi does use lots of guitar in his music. I would recommend just go through their whole album because there are so much good songs.
Just subbed for your Seventeen reaction. I hope you watch their dance practice studios. I promise you, NONE of the other groups as a whole can hold a candle to Seventeen's (SVT)'s dance skills (imagine like 13 J-hopes). None of them! I promise you, they will knock your socks off. Btw, I really enjoyed your musical ear and analysis of the snippets of the songs you heard on the killing voice. I'm here for more of that too! ❤ thank you.
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely look into their music a bit more and see where it takes me. Being a musician myself (guitar and singing) I tend to listen to instrumentation and little things like that, how effects were added and so on. But I have to say that I am honest too and won't sugarcoat things if I don't like them. I do receive my share of doubt and hate for that but I'm not the guy who says yes and great and awesome to everything he reacts to just to please every viewer. I watched the BTOB killing voice and said I don't like Changsub's voice.... my god, the backlash... but yea, thats life, some ppl like carrots some don't ... Thanks for being here, I really appreciate that!
@@NeonReactionsPierrethe thing is it's preference.. if you don't like someone's voice or one song out of 4 varieties, guess it happens. I don't immediately like all of SEVENTEEN's songs either. But there's always, ALWAYS some good in each of them. N when reactors react to things n say it's bad.. repeatedly n for all songs etc, that's when my mind questions, why do they even react if they don't like it? As long as one is able to find a good thing or just not react if they don't like a team's music it's fine for me I guess.. hope it makes sense. (Btw, this is certainly not against you, this is my first time coming to your channel, being a carat, had to come for SEVENTEEN's music spreading happiness 😀. )
Thank you very much. You are absolutely correct and it is nice to have you here. The guys from Seventeen are great singers and work together flawlessly. I will definitely listen to more of their songs and try to find out more about them. This was my first look into their music and one singer out of nine was not my thing in like five of the songs.... I would be very narrow minded to say they are not good. As I said in the previous answer here - I am a musician myself and like to look at a song from various points. I've sung with others, I've sung in groups and solo ... so I appreciate the talent of actually sounding really good together and actually performing together. Voices have to be different to make a nice complete harmonic painting... and some voices - to me - are exactly that - a part of the group and not a voice I would like as a solo.
11:27 actually run to you isnt an anime song but woozi their member/producer got the inspiration from anime actually . This is how he imagined an anime song ❤
Yes they are popular as an idol producer. You should also see their performance (dance to these songs). They are cool. Also they all sing in all the songs. At least a few lines. But their distribution is very fair. Not like other groups. They are very talented. Our Seventeen❤️🔥
So far I haven't seen any other comment mentioning what you say about them bringing old school sounds into their songs. Woozi, the main producer, is a big fan of Bruno Mars so I guess that could be one reason he loves and fequently uses some of that sound; he also loves anime and has said before that likes the music, which explains why they have several songs that have those anime vibes. They have very good ballads too, mostly from their vocal unit, and in those songs they also have a very old school sound, some are just like 90's pure R&B, some sound a bit 80's or early 2000s. I guess that's why much of their music feels really nostalgic. The songs for every album are chosen by consensus of the members and company, so their individual tastes are reflected on the songs some of them compose or the ones they work on for every separate unit. Many of them also love anime, some like rock, pop punk, some love old ballads, some like bright pop, others prefer hip hop, and you can see that in the choices they make for their b sides, unit songs and solos.
Thank you for this reaction. One of my favorite groups up with BTS for me. One of my top favorite songs of theirs is called home;run. I think you will love it. Especially if you love their old school style songs
Helo Sir good day to you! i found your channel and subscribed because of your Taeyeon's Killing Voice reactions. back then when i heard u say u enjoyed her music so much i was like ahhh then i think he will enjoy listening to Svt's music too. didnt expect for u to find them this soon haha! again thank you for this reaction! p/s: sorry for my bad grammar english is not my 1st language i hope u can understand what im trying to say.
SEVENTEEN are the perfect example of self producing idols. They do everything themselves, even some of their music videos. I think that was the main reason HYBE decided to acquire their company years ago, because they love artists that can produce themselves and be successful at it at the same time. I recommend you to watch these music videos: SUPER Getting Closer Fear HOT HIT Home;Run Cheers Don't Wanna Cry
hi i was wait to you watch seventeen a finally it happen ❤ seventeen or svt from my opinion one of best group in kpop like i watch all the famous groups back than and seventeen was the only one that catch my attention they really good the memebers all could sing well and half of them also can do rap well and ofcours they are very good at dance the kpop fan called them when they debut theater kids because how their performance was good actually if you stan them you will see by your self when they perform it look like they telling a story their dance is match with their lyrics ❤ and above all that they are good guys and very funny i hope you enjoy with them
In korea, when a Kpop group got the first place for the first time on a Music show- It's considered as an important career in K music industry- , in many cases, there's a reason by their previous release was a hit so they got much bigger fan base but not got a first place at then, but after that their next release became on the first place for the first time. it's a common case. As far as I remember as a Korean, "Mansae" was a huge hit in the K-pop scene, and the next release, "Pretty U," won its first No 1. 7:33 He produces the most of their songs. and they can paly instrumentals. and also most of them write musics
Seventeen are known as the powerhouse of Kpop & kings of synchronization because they slay every performance they do ✨ I highly recommend to react to their performances. I also recommend to listen to FACE THE SUN album 🤍
