When they first debuted, it was easier to divide them into units, but they have developed so much as artist that the lines are so vague now. Woozi is the main producer, composer and writer (recently won as producer of the year) The hip hop unit write their own lines and also help composing and producing. Especially Vernon. The performans unit are the main dancers, they also help with the choreographys, especially Hoshi. Dino usually helps the members to learn and perfect the choreographys. Overall they all participate, that's why they are called self produced idols.

Performance Unit - They focuses on dancing (but we call them the all-rounder unit as they usually dance, sing, and of course rap...but yeah, main focus is DANCE) - They mostly choreograph their unit songs and also the members are usually the one who helps with creating SEVENTEEN's choreos with HOSHI as the leader. edit: The song they performed is "LILILI YABAY", this VERY different from the original version, the dance to this song is VERY AESTHETICALLY BEAUTIFUL AND SATISFYING. I believe they did this rendition to showcase the Performance unit's vocal capabilities.

Performance unit are in the charge mostly of the choreographies and the dance vocal, vocal unit in charge with the vocal and hip hop unit for the raps but all of them were so talented and all rounder so you can just see each of them doing everything, talented asf.
