actually, dont be. 17 is a wonderful and careless age. You feel adult but you will realize you actually don't. Enjoy it, be silly, try things out, get out... you will understand later, I promise.@@chickenpopeyes3211
@@chickenpopeyes3211probably late, but I’m 17 and a half now, honestly not that different lol I think it’s just a popular song topic bc it’s the final year before you’re a legal adult

Used to be a major scale But the melody went stale Musical cacophony let Eensy Weensy spider free You're a rich little boy Who's had to work for his toys You've got all the sensibilities Of an upper class guy No I'm not your little slave No I don't twist and turn that way Only got bad things to say You're always asking what is up with me Could never tell you what happened The day I turned seventeen The rise of a king and the fall of a queen Seventeen, seventeen Oh, you are embarrassed of me ‘Cos I use my tongue freely Bet you wish I couldn't speak ‘Cos when I do, you know I tell you why you're being weak You want a hassle free life Go get your upper class wife Oh, she's got all the personality Of a lemon that has been Truly sucked dry You teach me how to behave I felt you question the way I was brought up as a baby Well you don't know fuck about my family Could never tell you what happened The day I turned seventeen The rise of a king and the fall of a queen Seventeen, seventeen Never fell down like a princess I used to kid myself in this stress That it was just how things Were meant to be Oh, seventeen, seventeen.
This song is already a classic (ten years on) & it will only become more so with time. So there will be more & more strange covers (think symphony orchestras & grand pianos recently playing Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”). These are genuine homages to the original art & need to be recognised & applauded as such. For myself, I salute Marina’s beautiful songwriting in many new songs since then, but that “Seventeen” track will always be Marina & the Diamonds. And why not? It was an excellent name for a girl starting out on such a journey.
I'm 17 and will turn 18 in 4 months, I've seen some people saying they're scared of being 17 but nahh nothing changes, it's nothing different than being 16 but the only thing that we could consider as a "difference" is that you will be more aware of your mistakes, you'll be slightly more mature but nothing else so don't be scared, just be happy you're still not 18 lol
