It sounds like there was a set number of things that were to be covered in this flight. As you may probably know gliders only maintain or increase altitude when the conditions are favorable. Judging by the flight time there was barely any lift anywhere so consequently they only had a very limited amount of time in the air to complete everything before they had to land. To complete a demonstration of a stall you need sufficient height (which was running out fast) before they eventually arrived at circuit height, at which they are then committed to landing. When time is of the essence, there is a delicate balance between allowing the student to execute exercises at their leisurely pace and communicating a sense of urgency to encourage a more concerted effort to achieve the tasks set out. The instructor's comments throughout were intended to get the student to act quicker, NOT to underhandedly criticize their ability as an aviator. Now obviously it would've been much better had the weather been better and been a much longer flight, then they could've slowed things down and made more progress on trimming but time didn't allow for that. They just had to work with what they had. Now in the student's defense, rushing the exercise can easily cause the instructor to miss small things that were affecting the student's ability to trim accurately. For eg. on the first attempt to trim the student had the correct speed (50knots) held with the stick but once he started adjusting the trim lever to hold that speed he accidentally let the speed drop because he probably didn't realize he was allowing the center stick to move. On the second attempt, I can tell the student was trying to set the trim lever by "Guessing" the position of the trim lever rather than slowly progressing the lever until it unloaded the center stick. (The lever seems very sticky so that doesn't help his feel at all) On the third attempt, the student should've first reset to the correct speed with the center stick first like the other times and then trimmed, but instead, he tried to guess the correct trim lever position again which is equivalent to shooting in the dark blindfolded. Time pressure would've been an influencing factor in this. The fourth attempt may have been successful because the instructor gave the student a different form of reference to work from which was the distance between the dash and the horizon. I know it's hard for younger people especially when under some load, but being more vocal and bouncing questions or observations back to the instructor when something you've done didn't work, or unexpected comes up, it really helps the instructor in his analysis of the situation and will help troubleshoot situations much more precisely and quickly. Everyone should've taken away lessons from this. That's what they're there for, to learn.

@@DosExavier88 And when the instructor was not stressing about the height, he was able to give the student a chance to fly the approach and I think the reason he took over at the end is the attitude and picture is very diffrent from the back seat so they looked lower than they were hense the comment " you cant see the ground properly"
