Official music video for Alley Cat, from the forthcoming Seventh Wonder studio album entitled The Great Escape, released late 2010 through Lion Music. Video recorded, edited and produced by Johan Larsson.
I never get tired of this song. It gets better each time you listen. SW are technically so good, but they also have humor and emotional range, not just virtuosity.
I'm from Malaysia fans, I liked every heavy metal genre especially power metal, progressive metal and symphonic metal. I liked Tommy Karevik's voice whether he's from Kamelot or Seventh Wonder because both of them are different bands, different styles and very technical amazing great singing voice, keep it up Tommy.
Usually not a fan of power metal vox but damn this dude can sing and has an amazing voice. It doesn't seem over the top like so many clean vocalists in the genre. You guys have a new fan.
i always loved how metal is, for the comon belief of people, being kind of weird always wearing black, singing devil songs and all that stuff which clearly is not always right, and then here we are, with a lot, A LOT of songs singing for girls to come back, or even love songs, and it is quite funny on live performances, at least here in argentina, when bands like kamelot, sonata arctica, nightwish maiden come to play there are plenty of big sweaty smelly men, singing their hearts out for this love songs, live long metal, and in DIO words, WE ROCK
+Agus G Its pretty crazy Metal has been given a bad vibe in modern culture ill give you a pretty scary truth from the UK in all festivals held in the UK there has been reported rapes apart from one, the Download Festival which is a rock/metal/punk festival we may be outcasts but we have morals and decency no matter what society thinks!
Argentina one of the best crowds ever, in december going to south america and of course going to argentina Bariloche I really want to go to tha place, any hints are more than welcome my metal friend.
Those bands wouldn't be considered metal in the US. They're considered rock or classic rock, and so is Seventh Wonder who are considered in the same genre as Greta Van Fleet. When you say metal to people in the US, they're thinking about death metal, black metal, and hardcore.
@@minniepax1654 then what do you call Progressive metals like Dream Theaters, etc, who are from the US too, which are far more advanced and faster than those where you can't even jump or shake your head.
+Neeko I find his style in Kamelot much more interesting, his using both high and low notes. I think Kamelot style actually makes his voice show it's true colors :D
+Neeko In an recent interview he said that he listened to all Kamelot tracks so he could play a bit like the "old Kamelot" but he also stated that he didn;t want to sing like Roy but to put his fingerprint
I'm listening this for the first time. I'm a big fan of Kamelot and I came here to check this out. I'm high af and I'm staring at the keyboard for several minutes and I don't know what to say. This is strangely f*cking dope! 🤯
At first, my gf introduced me this song, and I was like, "meh..." but now that she's gone... I just can't stop listening to.. Amazing song, by the way.
Haven't listened in a few years. Put it on today and I'm on number 8 in a row. I didn't realize I love this song! I keep saying just one more time. It is a special song. Thank you Seventh Wonder!
Wow, Tommy is such an awesome singer... doesnt matter wether he sings for kamelot or for seventh wonder.. his style is brilliant... and THIS Band deserves more support! Love Tommy..!
I've got a broken heart and a broken smile When I fall I get up even if it takes a while Seeking shelter in the ghost of Elvis And all of the magic Michael left this world And I ain't leaving even if I know that Sometimes I drive on the wrong side Somehow I'm terrified Some days I will stray inside to cover that I've cried Being twice as sorry because I've lied Such a sad looking clown In a world upside down Astray in the alleys of this town There's but one little sun Where she can safely run When she comes undone Oh baby let me stay your alley cat You're my wire to the light And my spark here in the still of the night So baby let me stay where I'm at In your sight I always feel alright I'm right where I don't want to be And it's a mystery How the will to fit in is making me A hole in history And as long as I'm alive I won't be free Sometimes I'm left on the outside Somehow I got no pride Some days I am trying to survive when I collide Win an empty Jackie by my side Such a sad looking clown... Oh baby let me stay your alley cat... Why me? I'm trying to find A way to erase and rewind Help me face my fears Stay pulling strings my dear Rule me like a puppeteer Oh baby let me stay your alley cat...
@QingLong90 i agree with u at one point, dream theater today sucks bad, but before 2002 they were the best ,the harmonies ,the vocals , the instrumental, everything was perfect.
Here on Seventh Wonder, in every songs we can see that he Tommy has more vocal freedom, he goes further tahn in Kamelot, where he has to fit what Kamelot used the fans to... I really enjoy both bands as far as they keep true to themselves and we can hear tommy in several types of sound
Robert MacIntosh For sure. One singer that can achieve different sonorities, and keep real to itself shows how great he is. There are a few vocalsists that can play in almost any metal style or other style of music without we notice a major difference between types. One of the singers I most admire is Mats Leven, he can achieve a more harsh vocals, melodic ones, alternative ones, more elaborated and I like all his work. With Tommy Karevik is starting to happen the same, I like either Kamelot or Seventh Wonder, even in Ayreon he shows his quality
I’ve been a fan since the Great Escape Album came out. I saw y’all at ProgPower several years ago. You guys are the only metal band I can handle since I’ve become Christian. Hope you come to America again to play someday! 🙌 Thank you for sharing your talents with the world! 🙌
What's the prob with his voice guys ? He's a freakin' great singer, and his voices matches perfectly with the song.. Saying that, you could not love his voice, but don't say he's a bad singer ;).
Wish this song and The Great Escape was still on Spotify. Why’d they take it off? Edit: Also their bass player is just the biggest positive vibe ever. Just having the time of his life! Freaking love that energy!
***** I'm with you on that one. It's really refreshing to have this vocalist's super clean voice accompany awesome riffs and chord progressions. He's got a lot of range. Usually you don't think of progressive metal with such a vocalist, but it's such a cool sound of it's own, I'm instantly hooked. Can't wait for more!
I like Tommy much better in Kamelot where he looks more badass and mysterious and in this band he's more of an ordinary guy. Of course, his singing is fantastic in both bands.
Laura G Wait a minute...Thomas from Kamelot, from Tampa? I knew him back in the early Kamelot days. I lived in Tampa . Goddamn, I wondered what he got up to since Kamelot. VERY glad to see him doing well and still blowing everyone the fuck away!
+Laura G I disagree. In Kamelot he always looks rather unnatural, because they keep airbrushing the hell out of him in videos and promotional materials. He looks like your typical run out of mill "mysterious vampire goth", and while I applaud the direction they took in their latest stuff, it still feels like they are trying too much to make him the next Roy Khan. In Seventh Wonder he's just doing what he does best in the most natural way. No fake persona, no adhering to stereotypes or the legacy of Roy Khan. Just pure Tommy Karevik and his progressive metal. Also, the beard. Yeah.
I love no matter how they write their songs, they all sound like SW songs. Their style is what I have been waiting to hear after DT & SX have been stale
Khan will always be my favourite Kamelot singer but Tommy delivers Kamelot songs to a level which Khan did which is why I love Tommy being Kamelot's singer because he keeps the spirit alive.
I've loved Seventh Wonder ever since this song came out! 💙 I hope after this tour with Kamelot, Tommy will take a break and you guys will bring SW back full force! Love your amazing and unique prog music!!! 🎶
what I meant to say is just that being a metaller or whatsoever doesn't mean appreciating just "true metal", but appreciating every kind of music AND particularly liking a metal style/genre/band
Oh my god! You're awesome! I don't know what did I listen to before Tommy started to sing with Kamelot. This is what I'm looking for the whole day! God.. I even listened to Vivaldi today :O
They have something special that's for sure... but some of Kamelot's songs just chill me to the bone. And maybe I haven't listened to Seventh wonder enough to say that about them YET, but for now my heart belongs to Kamelot.
Guys, Phil was referring to the "big tent" definition of the genre, not a specific sub-genre or style. But anyways, Phil, glad SW brought you back to the family. \m/
Tommy's amazing. My jaw dropped open when I learned he never had formal training and was a fireman of all things. Please, can't we stop with the Tommy/Khan comparisons? Tommy and Khan are very talented musicians in their own right and I love them both. Khan is gone and complaining won't bring him back, so what more can we ask for than a fantastic replacement like Tommy? He sounds great in Sacrimony and the live videos I've seen so far; I'm so stoked for Silverthorn.
ive been trying to find this song for sooo long, had the riff stuck in my head for ages, it finally came to me when a clip of me playing the riff came up on facebook after 7 years
Saw Kamelot last week in new orleans...Was the greatest thing I had ever seen.90% of that is because of Tommy,he has an incredible stage presence..an incredible voice..he can hit notes that Khan cant anymore and he is a very nice guy.Ive loved Kamelot for many many years and thought the band was going to be doomed after losing Khan. But Kamelot couldnt be any beter than it is now.
My brother, my friend and I went to see Kamelot just to set Tommy as well. We got VIP and dressed up in these Great Escape outfits. Tommy took a picture of us with his phone. 😊

"smelly cat, merol cat. what are they feeding youuuu?!"
I dont understand people saying that this is pop. Its just (in my opinion) a more catchy metal-song. And people saying kids dont like this type of music are wrong. Im 12 and i love this kind of music, pop and rap is for normies lol
