What seemed to be an exciting sequel to the Western Conference Finals last year, might have been ruined by several controversial calls by the referees in Game 1.

The NBA refs seem to help script the narrative of which team will win in the end. Games finish with results that look and feel empty. If I rooted for a team and they won because the refs called in their favor, the victory would ring pretty hollow, especially if video footage proves the accusation consistently.
