Thank god that the dentist could recognize an adverse allergic reaction and provide proper immediate actions without a single hesitation. She potentially saved a life.

I had a panic attack recently that literally sounded like this woman. My god I could feel the panic of trying to get a breath when you just can’t open your throat. The nurse noticed this before I did. Before any Anaphylactic symptoms started to show. Amazing.

You said, "Keep in mind, the patient should be placed supinely once the patient starts exhibiting allergic reactions in the event that it is hard to breathe." This will make it harder for many patients with swelling airways to breathe. They're most likely going to want to sit up and lean forward into what's called the tripod position.

I had to stab myself with an epipen the other day. After getting an allergy shot and leaving the doctors office, I developed shortness of breath and throat tightness. I stuck the pen in my outer thigh soon after and then went to the nurses office at school. It was scary.

Half a minute to get an Epi pen. That is a disgrace. It should be in the same room as you. No excuses. You should be faster than that. And saying "hang in there" is not helpful... So American. 30 seconds. Absolutely appalling.
@AccidentallyOnPurpose
@AccidentallyOnPurpose Год назад
This is a training session for a dental office. Anaphylaxis attacks are very rare but they have to prepare for it anyways. They can't have an epipen in every single room. Doctor's offices don't have epi in every single room either. Epi can seriously aggravate some heart issues so they take vitals first, including o2 stats, if the person has never had an anaphylactic reaction before.
@acquiesce100
@acquiesce100 Год назад
@@AccidentallyOnPurpose Sorry, Amanda, I respectively disagree. 30 seconds is too long. Even if the EPI pen aggravates some heart issues, you have no choice, Anaphylaxis doesn't give a rats arse about the heart issues. They should have it in every room a major procedure is carried out.
