Blimey! Look at the crowds that turned out for this one. Great variety in classes of locos and the carriage stock operated and not a steam loco in sight (have viewed MSV coverage of the steam gala from mid-April).Such enthusiasm from the younger set that missed out on loco haulage and have to put up with multiple units! Obviously a great success for SVR. Thanks for your excellent coverage, although I was a little alarmed by the trespassers on the Victoria Bridge approaches in one scene - I think the loco crew was too! The current generation of railfans needs to understand what the Danger Zone is and the concern that encroachment upon that zone without authority causes train crews. It takes only one idiot to spoil the show for everyone. 🙂
Lovely shots! I was so torn on this one, I really wanted to go but in the end I stayed home as I knew it would be CRAZY busy, especially with multiple HSTs and 37s around - the veg would be out in force for those! So maybe this was the best way for me to experience this year's one, through excellent videos like yours :)
